Faith Or Endurance?

by Susan Newberry

Several weeks ago, I was feeling aggravated and stressed. The COVID virus was causing too many changes in my life. While I didn’t know anyone personally who had the virus early on, I was now seeing almost daily prayer requests on social media for people I knew, people I was friends with. It made the virus seem more “real” when it started impacting people whom I knew and cared about.

In addition, there was the upcoming elections. I am a conservative, a supporter of President Trump, and pro-life. All I saw was negativity, hate, and conflict. I was thankful our economy was doing well, despite COVID, but I didn’t like that my family had not celebrated Easter, birthdays, Thanksgiving, and other holidays together as we have always done in the past.

One day, I was expressing all this to my daughter, who gently reminded me that I should have faith: faith that God was in control and that my worry was contradictory to trusting Him in all things. I had to pray, asking Him to forgive my lack of faith and trust in the difficult times. It’s easy to not call on God when things in life are rolling along normally: no sickness, no job issues, no money problems. It’s when things go wrong that we first think we can handle it ourselves, and when we fail—we finally give it to God. James 1:3 tell us, “…for you that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”

Sometimes we pray for something in faith, but we want an answer in our time. I’ve learned that while it’s fine to pray for something, someone, or a situation, I must have the endurance to keep praying and wait for God’s answer, in God’s time.

It’s been many years since my father-in-law passed away. He was living with us at the time and was a strong-willed man who had been healthy most of his life. His illness made him difficult to deal with; he gave up and was waiting to die. At church one night, I went to the altar and prayed fervently for patience to deal with him. Be careful what you pray for! He soon began to decline, was bedridden, and had to be put on a feeding tube (which he pulled out more than once).

One night, he began hallucinating while Lane was working a 24-hour shift at the fire department. I sat by his bed most of that night holding his hand so he could sleep and the “men in the closet” wouldn’t get him. That night, God answered my prayer and gave me patience. The next few days, we were able to spend time with him, and I was blessed to be with him when he drew his last breath.

I’ve had many days since, good and bad, that continue to teach me faith and endurance, and for that I say, “Thank you, Lord.”

Through Covid-19, Grass Continues To Grow

by Mark Bailey

2020 is a year most people will never forget. We have seen, faced, and overcome some challenges presented to us as Americans that we will still endure for years to come. One thing that hasn’t changed is if the Good Lord is giving us rain and sunshine, the grass will always grow. Our slogan here at Bailey Outdoors and Cub Cadet of Northwest Georgia has always been, “If you can grow it, we’ll help you mow it.”

As we enter into our eighth year of business, we have continued to expand our brands to meet every customer’s needs in some way. Our top two brands to date are the brands we opened the doors with or sold within our first year of business. Cub Cadet has been our highestvolume brand mainly because they can fit the needs of any customer in the market: from homeowners all the way up to commercial cutters, from push mowers all the way to 72” dual-rear-wheel zero-turn mowers.

Our next most popular volume brand is Ferris. This brand is known for its suspension ride technology, which 26 // March 2021

many other brands would love to duplicate but cannot due to patents. This offers shocks and coils around all four corners with the front suspension offering a pivotal front axle, or you can move up to independent arm suspension, providing the operator with a smoother cutting experience. This also protects the rigid frame instead of just the operator.

Outdoor power equipment has also been our main focus from the beginning, which is why we decided to sell RedMax products. The trimmers and blowers are top of the line, with many of my commercial accounts continuing to purchase this brand today. Homeowners love the performance also. We offer RedMax hedge trimmers, pole saws, sprayers, chainsaws, and multi-tools, where you buy the motor head and can choose different attachments. We top that off with Vortexx pressure washers and accessories and also Snapper 82-volt, battery-powered products.

As we move into our parts and service department, we carry 1,500 different parts for the equipment we sell. Most parts, if we don’t have it and it’s at the warehouse, we can

have in two or three days. Our service department strives daily to get whatever product you bring in for repair taken care of in a timely manner and ready for return. Even in the busy time of year, seldom do we take more than five days to complete a repair. If it takes longer, it’s normally due to waiting on parts from the warehouse. We pride ourselves on turnaround time on equipment because we know the grass continues to grow.

Why buy from us? We think it’s simple: value prices on new products, service after the sale, turnaround time on repairs, supporting your local small business and not a big box store, and most importantly, because of your overall customer experience at our dealership. We ask the questions customers come to appreciate. “What size lot are you mowing? What is the terrain: flat, slope, or heavy slope? What are you currently using, and in what ways are you looking to upgrade? Maybe deck width? Maybe reduced time in the seat? Maybe more power?” Let us help you finetune those decisions.

When you purchase from us, our units have gone through a checklist to ensure that once you get it home, you are ready to start cutting that lawn. We fuel new units, so you don’t have that extra stop to make before trying out your new machine.

As we expand on 2021 offers to our customers, combined with health and safety guidelines for both customers and employees, we now offer texting through our website. Payment options are also available through our site. Here’s an example: You know a part number you need or you can look it up on our site, so you send us a message through our site or even ask us to look it up for you. Once we confirm, you can pay online through our site, and we can process your order and get the part ready. Notify us once you arrive, and we can bring the part out to you, so you never have to enter the store. People ask us quite often if we work on brands other than what we sell. I always answer, YES we do! As long as parts are accessible to get for the repair, we will take care of you.

Whether you’re that homeowner taking care of your yard, that weekend warrior who picks up lawns for extra income on the side, or that commercial cutter looking to be more efficient and profitable, find out why we are your onestop shop to answer any questions and fit your needs.

Please stop by our store location at 921 E. Morris St. in Dalton, GA. Or give us a call at 706-226-3126. You can also visit us online at cubcadetofnorthwestgeorgia.com. Our hours of operation beginning in March are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. You will be glad you did.
