Throughout the years since the agency was opened, Innovative Risk Services has been no stranger to the usual problems that small businesses oftentimes face. From the recession in 2007 to the retiring of longtime staff 26 // December 2021

members, the agency has seen its fair share of issues along the way throughout its existence. It was and always has been the determination of the staff that kept the agency moving forward in hard times, not only for Innovative Risk Services, but many of their clients. Most recently, the Covid-19 pandemic was one of those instances.

While many agencies closed their doors to lobby business, Innovative Risk Services made a decision to stay open for all their clients. Every staff member was given the opportunity to work from home and longtime clients that pay in person at the office were consulted, and the general consensus was that Innovative Risk Services needed to be open. While office hours did change a bit, Innovative Risk Services has been open for business the entire duration of the pandemic. Cleaning and sanitizing the office became a massive priority, even installing air-purification machines throughout the office. Technology also became a top priority. From signatures to agency text messaging, Innovative Risk Services has been able to continue to deliver a positive client experience. “2020 was definitely a year to be remembered,” said Pam Blount, Founder of

Innovative Risk Services. “We had to change up many of the ways that we handled daily business. However, we did it willingly to continue to be able to take care of our clients the way that they deserved to be taken care of!”

Most people familiar with Innovative Risk Services know that Christmas around the agency is a pretty spectacular time! Innovative Risk Services hosts a yearly Christmas open house—a way to give thanks to clients for their continued partnership with Innovative Risk Services. The agency is transformed into a holiday showcase with towering Christmas Trees in every office, twinkling lights outside the building, and even the smells of Christmas! Yet, in 2020 as the staff began to prepare for the holidays, the agency suffered the terrible loss of longtime agent and friend, Marcus “Mark” Tate. Mark, a Dalton resident for over three decades, passed away after a brief battle with Covid-19. Although it was a tough loss for everyone, the staff pushed through and finished strong.

As we near the end of 2021, Innovative Risk Services has again decked the halls and is standing firm on the promise of Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord. Plans to give you a hope and a future.” Innovative Risk Services is looking forward to celebrating the holidays with current clients and would like to invite new clients to stop by for a Christmas cup of coffee or hot chocolate and a quote!
