Obituaries DONALD D. BISHOP Donald D. Bishop, 87, died on Feb. 17. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Edith “Edie� Bishop; his parents, Reed and Helen Bishop and Vi Ridenour; and his brother, Rodney Bishop. He is survived by his sons and their families, Brent, Debbie, Michael and Sarah Bishop and Mark, Tracy and Sebastian Bishop; his sister-in-law, Nita Bishop; and his other brother and family, Bob, Donni, Dale, Dane and Karli Ridenour. Born on Beech Run Hill, West Virginia, Don grew up in Preston County and moved to Virginia after marrying Edie. He graduated from West Virginia University with a degree in forestry and served the U.S. Army as part of the post-war reconstruction efforts in Germany. He also served as forester in Sandston and Goochland. He retired from Jake Alexander Wood Yard. Don was a long-standing member of Gum Spring United Methodist Church, where he served the Lord in multiple capacities over the years and loved and was loved by the congregation. He was passionate about woodworking, reading and his family. Visitation was held on Sunday, Feb.19, at Gum Spring United Methodist Church. The celebration of his life was held at the church on Monday, Feb. 20. Interment followed in the church cemetery. Connel A.; great-grandchildren, Connel A. Jr. and Izaiah; and a host of other relatives and friends. His remains rested at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home in Goochland. Funeral services were held on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Second Union Baptist Church in Goochland.
DEBRA S. RAGLAND Debra Susan Ragland, 58, of Henrico, died Friday, Feb. 10. She is survived by a daughter, Holly Portis; a sister, Wendy Means; four aunts, Alberta Duncan, Diane Johnson, Anne Johnson and Joy Davis; two grandchildren, Jalen and Blake Portis; one niece and two nephews; and a good friend, Ricky Bishop. She was a member of Perkins Baptist Church in Goochland. The family received friends on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Perkins Baptist Church. Services were held at 2 p.m. Interment church cemetery. Norman Funeral Home assisted the family.

Irene S. Urban, 85, of Richmond, formerly of New Haven, Connecticut, passed away Feb. 11. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanine Lecznar (Bill) of Goochland; sons, David Marotta (Sherry) of North Chesterfield, Walter Urban (Zaida) of Hawaii; brother, Charles Urban of Texas; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A Funeral Mass was Urban held Tuesday, Feb. 13 at St. Edward Catholic Church in CLAXTON F. JACKSON Mr. Claxton F. Jackson, 87, of Sandy Hook, Chesterfield.
