Jeffrey “Jeff” Cowan of Goochland County was born October 28, 1963 and died December 29, 2012. He is survived by his mother Nina Hodges, his father Dave Cowan (Bea), his children, Jessica, Jeff and Savanah; his brothers, David , Gary and Mark Cowan, his girl friend Sarah Katherine, many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Goochland, brothers Dennis Harris and wife Jackie of Crozet, Derrick Harris of Hahira, GA, JD Harris of Fredericksburg. Spike’s family included his aunts Ruby Amick of Charlottesville and Pauline Spencer of Lovingston, uncles Joe Harris of Alice, TX and Bill Harris of Lovingston. Mother-in- law Sandra Miller, Grandmother-in-law Mary Lee, and Brother-in-law Jeff Miller and wife Suzanne of Unionville. He had two beloved nieces Emma Harris of Hahira, GA and Alexandra Harris of Fredericksburg VA and one nephew Dylan Harris of Crozet. Spike left his constant companions and beloved dogs Juli and CamiBlue Rebel. Her remains rested at the Robert Mealy Funeral Home, Goochland, Va., where the family received friends and relatives on Friday, January 11, 2013,. Funeral services were held 12 noon Saturday, January 12, 2013, at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 994 Three Chopt Rd., Manakin, Va. 23103. Pastor Emanuel C. Harris officiating.

D.J. ‘Spike’ Harris left this world on January 10th 2013 after a short illness. His passions included cigars, grilling, Cavalier and Packers football, YMCA Logrollers and visiting the OBX every chance he got “on a Bumming Up the Beach tour’ Redman with his wife and dogs. Turner Mrs. Lucy Simms Turner, 85, of Goochland, Virginia, entered eternal rest January 7, 2013.
