Goochland County FireRescue is actively recruiting Fire and Rescue Volunteers and will be sponsoring an EMT-Basic Class beginning in
TUESDAY EVENING 4 PM 4:30
January 2011 at the Henley Fire-Rescue Training Center in Maidens, VA. Classes are offered at no charge to members and $150.00 for non members. Call Goochland County Fire-Rescue Administration to register at 556-5304 between the hours of 8 to 5 Monday through Friday to register for either program. EMT-B Class, 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., two evenings a week and an occasional weekend day, starting on January 4, 2011, finishing on May 7, 2011.
Virginia is offering an orientation for people interested in finding out more about adopting older children (ages 10 and older) from the foster care system. Participants will discover the myths surrounding the adoption of older children and can view photos of waiting children. There will be time for questions. The orientation is free and will begin at 5 p.m. at the agency’s Richmond office, 4200 Fitzhugh Ave. For details, call 353-0191 or visit www.chsva.org.
