Millions of dollars in funding secured for Nicholls
Federal Member for Nicholls, Mr Sam Birrell, has welcomed millions of dollars in funding for projects in towns across Nicholls including $2.3 million dollars for upgrades to the Echuca Aerodrome.
Mr Birrell says it’s been a great start to the year for the region following the announcement of $2,350,000 for upgrades at Echuca Aerodrome, $10,000 Tatura Civic Halls Committee and $10,000 for the Tallygaroopna Football & Netball Club.

Mr Birrell says the Echuca Aerodrome will receive funding as part of Round ree of the Regional Airports grant program.
“ is grant funding previously introduced by the Coalition Government will provide vital upgrades to the Echuca Aerodrome including resurfacing, extension of runways and improve drainage at the facility.
e money will also provide important medical upgrades by installing a patient transfer station and dedicated aeromedical helipad.
“ is money is vital to ensure regional communities like Echuca and its surrounding areas are equipped to cater for urgent health and medical needs of its residents,” he said.
Meanwhile while two community groups will receive a share of $1.45 million dollars of Australian Government funding from the Strengthening Rural Communities (SRC) program.
Mr Birrell said the Tallygaroopna Football and Netball Club will be provided with $10,000 to go towards purchasing seating for a community pavilion.
“ is funding aims to help support clubs and reconnect the community post covid. It will now also help support our wider community to reconnect and recover from the recent oods,”
Mr Birrell said.
While the Tatura Civic Halls Committee has been successful in securing $10,000 to help fund the replacement of its oors.
“Preserving historic community places is essential and is vital to ensure small communities like Tatura have t for purposes facilities to come together and host events in,”
Mr Birrell said.
Mr Birrell said he’s looking forward to seeing the projects come to fruition and see the people of Nicholls bene t from the funding long into the future.
