IRAQ The Iranian part of Kurdistan is in the northwest of Iran, between the 32nd and 40 North latitude and the 44th and 48th eastern longitude. Its area is about 106,577 square kilometers, including provinces of Ilam, Kermanshah and Kurdistan and parts of West Azerbaijan province. The northern part of Iranian Kurdistan extends as a strip of Aras River nearby the mount small-Ararat to the southern shores of the lake Urmia by an average width of 50 km and a length of about 300 km.
