5Designers ON OUR THE TOP WATCH LIST IN 2021

While many designers decided to write 2020 off their calendar completely and scrapped runways and collections altogether, there were a few front runners, who despite the adversities created very personal collections which were able to speak to a newer broader audience. 1. S. S. Daley.

The BA Fashion graduate from Westminster University was launched into the industry by having some of his graduate collection pieces worn in a music video by one of the biggest male celebrity artists currently - Harry Styles. It was Steven Daley’s graduate collection and London Fashion Week debut last spring, but he has already been recognised, and with big clients making their first orders, we can see how this will be a big hit in 2021.

2. Chopova Lowena.

A relatively young brand which is all about authenticity and has successfully mixed traditional Bulgarian motifs with British punk rock, to land in the perfect spot between streetwear and the underground culture. With elaborate dresses and skirts, and high attention to detail Chopova Lowena is on track to showcase another breathtaking collection - authentic, colourful, and full of history.

3. Thebe Magugu.

Thebe Magugu is an inspiring young designer based in South Africa. The brand produces the perfect mixture of modern, forward thinking, with the traditional and African culture. The SS21 gave us a history lesson alongside the short film and the new collection, which only sets our hopes higher for AW21.

4. Lisou. Silk. This is a brand all about silk, known for its bright standout colours and hand-drawn patterns. They are beautiful and unique, with bold cuts and eccentric designs. And with press, media, and the major London department stores backing this designer up, her formula is paved for success.

5. Voranida.

With feminine silhouettes and utilitarian designs Voranida excels in creating strong sculptural pieces for the modern city woman. A contemporary brand with an experimental approach, Voranida focuses its attention on the detail as well as the concept.
