The town’s treasures include romantic squares and small lanes as well as the Rhine Allee (Riverside Promenade), filled with trees and flowers. After an early two course dinner we transfer by coach to St Goar (around 20 minutes drive), a delightful town with small lanes and the Castle Rheinfels. You can enjoy one of the highlights of the year in St Goar, the Wine Festival in the market square, followed by the Rhine in Flames festival when the night sky erupts into a million stars with a spectacular fireworks display. Return to Boppard for evening snacks and free drinks in the lounge. We arrive early morning in the historic old town of Mainz. At this time of year the market square is a blaze of lights against the imposing back-drop of the thousand-year-old Cathedral of St Martin. Showmen and craftsmen offer Christmas specialities and original presents. Today is free in the town. We set sail for Frankfurt just before our farewell dinner followed by entertainment.
