Over the years there have a number of changes to the overall look of Brief but do you know how the magazine is pulled together? The editorial team (pictured) is responsible for setting the news agenda, creating each edition and publishing on the Intranet and GMP website. At the start of each issue the editorial team (members of the Corporate Communications Branch) get together to discuss the stories that have been submitted either by email, word of mouth, by phone or even as a result of Twitter. These days there are fewer ‘human interest’ stories submitted by police officers and police staff and the team know that this is something they need to work on. The saying “A picture is worth a thousand words” is often talked about in our office and we know that many of you will browse Brief to find someone you know. If you’ve got an idea or a story then please give one of us a call or email the team at brief@gmp.police.uk
