OF GMA DAGUPAN NEWS ANCHOR - BALITANG AMIANAN

A Kapuso Magazine exclusive one-on-one. Kapuso Magazine (KM): How would you describe your job as Balitang Amianan’s anchor? My job as an anchor is a very exciting and challenging one. Exciting in the sense that we get to know everything that’s happening; more often we are the “first ones to know.” And we get the privilege to tell others what we know or find out. This is where the challenge comes in – we are bound to deliver the truth but sometimes some people are not happy about that truth. KM: What is the most difficult part of your job as anchor? Why? Information gathering is as tedious as its dissemination. That makes my job difficult. I cannot just go on air with the bare necessities. We have to know more and understand the news deeper than what we see on the script because we have to have conviction and belief in what we are saying. And as I’ve said earlier, its difficult to tell the truth especially if others will get “hurt” in the process. KM: How do you spend your free time? I play badminton, watch TV and read books. I go out with my kids when I’m in Ilocos.

ABOUT CJ AGE: 36 years old (October 6, 1976) BIRTHPLACE: Allacapan, Cagayan (Cagayan Valley) EDUCATION: Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications (Divine Word College - Laoag City) FIRST JOB: Reporter/Announcer of RGMA Super Radyo Laoag in 1997

KM: Why do you think Balitang Amianan is preferred by viewers in Pangasinan and other areas? They get the freshest news in the region as they happen, complete with facts and without any biases delivered to them in a fast paced manner. With this, Balitang Amianan gained the trust and the hearts of Pangasinenses as well as our viewers from Baguio, La Union, Tarlac and Nueva Ecija. GMA KAPUSO MAGAZINE |JUNE 2013 ISSUE

GMA KAPUSO MAGAZINE |JUNE 2013 ISSUE

Atty. Felipe L. Gozon’s Message at the GMA Family Day Lahat halos ng ating business segments ay tumaas ang kita. Ang ating International business ay mas mataas ng 3% kaysa last year. Ang Radio naman ay up by 38% versus last year.

Following is Atty. Felipe L. Gozon’s speech at the GMA Family Day held on June 15 at the Enchanted Kingdom: Isang masayang umaga sa inyong lahat mga Kapuso! Talaga namang there is no better way to celebrate than with our family and loved ones.

umabot sa P258 million noong first quarter, samantalang P225 million naman ang Pol Ads ng GMA in the same period.

Speaking of ratings, narito ang datos galing sa Nielsen TV audience measurement covering June 1 to June 12, 2013:

12

By the way, hinihikayat ko kayong panoorin ang Dance of the Steel Bars, starring Dingdong Dantes, na palabas ngayon sa mga sinehan.

GMA G.I.V.E.S. Starts the Month of June the Kapuso Way:

Helping Build the Kapuso Multi-Purpose Center

GMA Network’s Corporate Affairs organized a build activity at the Angono Elementary School in Rizal with the network’s pool of employee/talent-volunteers, the GMA GIVES (Guide, Interact, Volunteer, Educate, Serve) on 01 June 2013. It was a day of fun and camaraderie as members of the GMA GIVES helped the GMA Kapuso Foundation finish the construction of the latter’s Kapuso Multi-Purpose Hall, which is being built under the Kapuso School Development Program. The municipality of Rizal is prone to excessive flooding owing to its location along the shores of Laguna Lake. In fact, it was one of the hardest hit areas during Typhoon Ondoy in 2009 and the unusual nasty northwest monsoon (habagat)

that hit in 2012. The GMAKF conducted an ocular inspection at that time and decided that the best way to help was by building a multi-purpose hall. This hall is envisioned to double as an evacuation site, when needed. This is the first volunteer activity for the year for GMA GIVES. Says Ma Teresa L. Pacis, AVP, Corporate Affairs, “This specific activity is one way that we can synergize with the Kapuso Foundation. Being under one network, it is important that we support each other. The Kapuso School Development Program is among the flagship programs of the Kapuso Foundation and our GMA GIVES are more than happy to lend a helping hand.” Some 50 volunteers, including Kapuso artists Mike Tan and Arni Ross, joined the day’s activity. Equipped with work gloves and simple construction tools, the volunteers did concreting, masonry and

painting work. GMA GIVES (often called ka-GIVES), were excited to waterproof the watch catchment tank, lay hollow blocks at the stage and façade areas, plaster the stage and even paint the masonry wall.
