Santa Maria Valley Ava Grenache

100% Grenache from the Rancho Réal vineyard. An elegant and open-knit expression of Grenache that seeking to bring out the floral and alpine character of the grape. 50% whole cluster. Aged in used puncheons and stainless steel. Bottled unfiltered.

Santa Maria Valley Ava Syrah

A co-ferment of Syrah with a percentage of Viognier, reminiscent of the wines of St. Joseph in the Northern Rhone. 50% whole cluster. Aged in used barrique. Bottled unfiltered.

‘LES FRUITS ROUGES’ PINK WINE

A medium salmon-colored rosé in which both Grenache and Cinsaut show their redfruited and elegant varietal typicity. Blended with a touch of Tibouren, a grape native to Southern France.

Estate Overview

A collaboration between winemaker Randall Grahm and Maze Row that focuses on cool climate growing vineyards in the Central Coast, and is inspired by the elegance and aromatic complexity that comes from Old World wine regions. The first wines for this project were made with the 2020 vintage.

From Randall: “...what we are trying to achieve here is not to blindly emulate the Frenchies, but rather, to try and find our own original style and voice, informed by the uniqueness of the vineyards, climats, and by the (mostly) sunny disposition of the Central Coast of California. The Language of Yes is certainly a journey of discovery, continuously working rather more to create complexity and soulfulness in the vines and wines.”
