Amarone Della Valpolicella Classico Docg

Veneto Igt Palazzo Della Torre

Palazzo della Torre is one of the estate’s most famous and versatile wines, with 30% of the blend made in the appassimento style. A blend of Corvina, Corvinone (dried), Rondinella, and a small percentage of Sangiovese. 35 year old vines. Aged in used barriques.

VALPOLICELLA DOC

Allegrini’s Valpolicella DOC shows the typicity of Valpolicella’s native varietals in a a fresh and light-bodied red wine. A blend of Corvina and Rondinella. Estate grown. 30 year old vines. Fermented and aged for a short time in stainless steel.

LUGANA DOC ‘OASI MANTELLINA

Allegrini’s newest bottling is this Turbiana-based white wine from the southern shores of Lake Garda. The 40ha vineyard is located in Pozzolengo, just over the border from the Veneto in Lombardy. The soils here are morainic in origin, with sandy clay and significant deposits of rocks throughout.

Estate Overview

The Allegrini family dates back six generations in the region of Valpolicella, but the modern estate was established by Giovanni Allegrini in the early 1960’s. He birthed Allegrini’s focus on high-quality cru wines, purchasing and replanting the La Grola, La Poja and Palazzo della Torre vineyards just before his death in 1983.

Today, the Allegrini family farms over 120 hectares across the Valpolicella Classico region. All of their wines are estate-grown. Their winery is located in the subzone of Fumane where they maintain operations as well as provide hospitality through the historic, Renassianceera Villa della Torre.

Brunello Di Montalcino Docg

The winery’s benchmark expression, with an elegance that showcases Argiano’s unique terroir. 100% Sangiovese from marl and limestone soils. Estate grown. Organic. 270-320m asl. Aged in 10-50 hectoliter barrels for more than two years.

TOSCANA IGT ‘NC’

Made in the Super Tuscan tradition, NC (short for the latin phrase ‘non confuditur,’ meaning, unique) is a versatile blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sangiovese. Organic. Aged for just a few months in second and thirduse barriques.

Argiano as an estate dates back to 1580, when the Pecci family laid the cornerstone of the Villa Bell’Aria (literally, the “Good Air Villa”) in Southwest Montalcino, planting grapevines and olive groves on the surrounding land.

Today, Argiano has 57 hectares under vine. And, while Southwest Montalcino is famous for scorching summers and powerful wines, Argiano looms 300 meters above sea level, with access to cooling air-flow from the Tyrhennian Sea (just 50km away) - the “Good Air” the Pecci family was talking about. This, along with an abundance of calcareous limestone amongst the clay soils, gives distinct elegance to their bottlings.

TOSCANA IGT ‘IL BLU’ (LIMITED)

Brancaia’s flagship expression, a Super Tuscan from vineyards in Chianti Classico. A blend of Merlot and Sangiovese. Estate Grown from vineyards in Radda and Castellina in Chianti. Organic. 30 year old vines. Aged in new and used barriques.

TOSCANA IGT ‘ILATRAIA’ (LIMITED)

Brancaia’s most powerful and concentrated expression, made from their vineyards in the Maremma, on the Tuscan coast. A blend of Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Organic. Aged in new and used barriques.

TOSCANA IGT ‘TRE’

The winery’s most versatile and fresh expression. A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from vineyards in Radda, Castellina in Chianti, and the Maremma. Estate grown. Organic. Aged for a year in cask and concrete tanks.

Estate Overview

Brancaia is spread across three estates in Tuscany; two are located in Chianti Classico (in the subzones of Castellina and Radda) and another is located in the Maremma, along the Tuscan coast. Brancaia’s flagship wine - Il Blu - is a blend of fruit from the two Chianti estates, while their opulent Ilatraia bottling comes from Brancaia’s vineyards in the Maremma.

The winery was founded in 1981 in Castellina in Chianti by Swiss expats Bruno and Brigitte Widmer. They passed the winery on to their daughter, Barbara Widmer, who has also been the winemaker since 1998. Barbara has brought the estate consistent acclaim through powerful blends and principled winemaking.

Chianti Classico Riserva

A modern and plush expression of Chianti Classico, made from a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot. Estate grown from vineyards in Radda and Castellina in Chianti. Organic. 30 year old vines. The Sangiovese is aged in tonneaux and the Merlot is aged in barriques.

VENEZIA GIULIA IGT ‘VINTAGE TUNINA’ (LIMITED)

Jermann’s release of his flagship wine, ‘Vintage Tunina’, a field blend of native and international varietals, remains a watershed moment for Italian wine. Estate grown. Single vineyard. 30 year old vines. 25% of the blend is aged in large oak cask for 11 months.

VENEZIA GIULIA IGT ‘RED ANGEL’ PINOT NERO

Named for Silvio Jermann’s son, Angelo, this ripe and energetic wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir. Estate grown. 25 year old vines. Aged for over a year in used 300L French oak.

In 1987, Jermann released ‘Where Dreams Have No End,’ his first and only barrelfermented white wine. A powerful and lithe expression of Chardonnay. Estate grown. 25 year old vines. 11 months on lees in 20% new and 80% used French 300L barrels.

Friuli Doc Pinot Grigio

An archetypal expression of Pinot Grigio from the Friuli region, exhibiting a balance of power and freshness. 100% Pinot Grigio from Ponca soils. Estate grown. 25 year old vines. 6 months on lees in stainless steel.

VENEZIA GIULIA IGT ‘VINNAE’ RIBOLLA GIALLA

Made from Friuli’s native grape, Ribolla Gialla, in a fresh and linear style. A blend of Ribolla Gialla with a small amount of Friulano and Riesling from Ponca soils. Estate grown. 25 year old vines. Aged on lees in stainless steel and large Slavonian cask.

Friuli Doc Pinot Grigio Ram T

A modern expression of Friulian skin contact Pinot Grigio. Sourced from a 2ha selection of estate Pinot Grigio vines. Maceration on the skins to extract color and texture. 6 months on the lees in stainless steel.

The Jermann estate was founded in the Collio Goriziano (the eastern hillsides) of Friuli in 1881 but the modern winery was launched in earnest in 1975 with the release of Vintage Tunina by Silvio Jermann, the third generation in Friuli, who brought clean winemaking practices to the estate, along with no shortage of creativity or panache. The wine was a sensation and Jermann became an Italian winemaking icon.

Jermann is known for their precise bottlings that capture the essence of Friuli (and its famed ‘Ponca’ soil) through creamy, powerful, and acid-rich wines.

SOAVE DOC ‘LA ROCCA’

A single-vineyard, monovarietal, oak-aged wine from calcareous clay soils that shows power and finesse. 100% Garganega. Estate grown. Organic. 170m asl. 10-50 year old vines. Aged for 12 months on the lees in large Slavonian oak barrels.

SOAVE DOC ‘CALVARINO’

The first single-vineyard Soave Classico, and one of the great whites of Italy. A traditional blend of 70% Garganega and 30% Trebbiano di Soave from volcanic soils. Estate grown. Organic. 10-50 year old vines. Aged for a year on the lees in glass-lined concrete tank.

Soave Doc Classico

A mid-weight wine with great energy and minerality from hillside vineyards in Soave Classico. A blend of 85% Garganega and 15% Trebbiano di Soave. Estate grown. Organic. Aged for 6 months on the lees in glass-lined concrete tanks.

The list of ‘firsts’ that Pieropan can lay claim to is almost unbelievable: the first to label a wine “Soave,” the first to age a Soave wine before release, the first to make a single vineyard Soave (1971 Calvarino), the first to make an Italian native-grape white wine from a single vineyard (also 1971 Calvarino), the first to make a barrelaged Soave (1978 La Rocca), the first to bottle under screwcap in the region, the first to convert to organic farming in Soave...

All of this pioneering centers primarily around Leonildo (“Nino”) Pieropan, the third generation winemaker and mastermind behind the first vintages of Calvarino and La Rocca. Today, his sons Andrea and Dario farm just over 40 ha in the Soave Classico zone.

BOLGHERI SUPERIORE DOC ‘DEDICATO A WALTER’ (LIMITED)

The winery’s top expression, a single-vineyard, monovarietal wine dedicated to Walter Allegrini, one of the founders of the estate who passed away in 2003. 100% Cabernet Franc. Estate grown. Organic. 30 year old vines.

Siblings Marilisa and Walter Allegrini founded Poggio al Tesoro in Bolgheri 2001. They were drawn by the natural beauty of the region, as well as Bolgheri’s increasing potential to deliver world class wines.

Poggio al Tesoro works in the tradition of the DOC, crafting Bordeaux-style blends from international varieties and whites from Vermentino. The estate comprises just over 70 hectares in four vineyards within the Bolgheri DOC and the broader Maremma (the name for the Tuscan Coast).

Sadly, Walter passed away in 2003, leaving Marilisa as the sole proprietor of the estate. Since then, she has dedicated a bottling of 100% Cabernet Franc to his memory. ‘Dedicato a Walter’ is the top expression of the estate.

BAROLO DOCG ‘MARCENASCO’

The flagship wine of the estate and a classic, elegant expression of La Morra Barolo. 100% Nebbiolo from three La Morra vineyards. Estate grown. 300-400m asl. 30 year old vines. Aged for 2 years in barrique and large Slavonian cask.

BAROLO DOCG ROCCHE DELL’ANNUNZIATA

A ‘grand cru’ Barolo from one of the great vineyards of the Piedmont, Ratti’s Rocche bottling is equal parts structure and grace. 100% Nebbiolo from Tortonian marl. Estate grown. 320m asl. 10-50 year old vines. Aged for 2 years in barrique and large Slavonian cask.

Barolo Docg Conca

A cru Barolo from a single hectare plot directly in front of the winery. Ratti’s Conca bottling is his most concentrated Barolo. 100% Nebbiolo from Tortonian marl. Estate grown. 300m asl. 25 year old vines. Aged for 2 years in barrique and large Slavonian cask.

Barolo Docg Serradenari

Ratti farms 4 hectares of the large, Serradenari cru, and the vineyard has a favorable southwestern aspect with unfettered access to wind. The unique altitude and exposure make this the most elegant and floral of his three cru wines.

LANGHE NEBBIOLO DOC ‘OCHETTI’

A juicy and aromatic Nebbiolo from a single vineyard in Roero. The fruit has been purchased from the same handshakecontracted grower for 50 years. 100% Nebbiolo from sandy soils. 300m asl. 30 year old vines. Aged for less than a year in neutral Slavonian oak.

BARBERA D’ASTI DOCG ‘BATTAGLIONE’

Ratti’s most versatile wine, a round and refreshing expression of Barbera. 100% Barbera from clay soils in the the Asti DOCG. Estate grown. 270m asl. 10-40 year old vines. Aged for 6 months in used French oak.

The Ratti name is one of the most famous in Barolo. in 1965, he made his first ‘cru’ wine, called ‘Marcenasco,’ after the historical name for the region. Around that same time, Renato Ratti made the first map of the Barolo crus, effectively introducing the commercial idea of terroir to Italian wine.

A towering figure, Renato Ratti died prematurely in 1988. His son, Pietro, took over the estate at just 20 years old and has been the winemaker for more than 30 years. Pietro has carried on his father’s vision of elegant La Morra Barolo, but recent vintages have found Pietro leaning towards more classical expressions. It is an evolution of his father’s approach that is resulting in the best wines of Ratti’s storied history.

ETNA ROSSO DOC ‘TRIMARCHISA’ (LIMITED)

Tornatore’s top expression, a concentrated and rich expression of native varieties. Mostly Nerello Mascalese with a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio. Estate Grown. 450m asl. 40 year old vines. Aged for more than a year in large oak casks and concrete tanks.

Etna Rosso Doc

A distincitvely light-bodied and fresh expression of the native reds of Mount Etna. Primarily Nerello Mascalese with a small percentage of Nerello Cappuccio. Estate grown. 500-600m asl. Aged for 6 months in large oak barrels.

ETNA ROSSO DOC ‘PIETRARIZZO’

Tornatore sources this red from the Pietrarizzo contrada, which exhibits red fruit and savory herbs, with significant depth and grace. 100% Nerello Mascalese from volcanic soils. Estate grown. 650m asl. Aged for a year in large casks and concrete tanks.

ETNA BIANCO DOC ‘PIETRARIZZO’

A single-contrada expression notable for its floral and spice aromas, with concentration and energy on the palate. Mostly Carricante with a small percentage of Catarratto from volcanic soils. Estate grown. 600m asl. Aged for a year in large casks and concrete tanks.

Etna Bianco Doc

An aromatic and expressive native white, with marked salinity. 100% Carricante from volcanic soils on the northern slopes of Mount Etna. Estate Grown. 600m asl. Aged for 6 months in stainless steel and concrete tanks, with 3 months on the lees.

Francesco Tornatore founded his namesake winery on the northern slopes of Mount Etna in 2010 in the town of Castiglione Sicilia. He was born there to a farming famliy, as was every generation of Tornatore dating back to the 16th century.

Today, the Tornatores farm 60 hectares of vineyards near the town of Castiglione Sicilia, including the contrade of Pietrarizzo and Trimarchisa, with elevations ranging from 400 to 700 meters above sea level. They work exclusively with the native varieties of the region.
