RIDER APP Riders can purchase and use tickets from their mobile phone (smartphone and internet enabled feature phone). Tickets are stored on the phone and can be used with or without internet connectivity. Trips and commutes can be easily planned with real-time location of buses, trains, or streetcars. Riders can travel in groups, using multiple tickets at once with one mobile device. Visually Authenticated

TICKETS

Visually authenticated tickets are well suited for proof–of–payment, open platform systems, but can also work side– by–side with smartcards, NFC, and other fare collection systems

The design of the animation is not only innovative with customizable artwork, it is also an important security asset that can change regularly, protecting against efforts to create fraudulent, look alike tickets. Tickets clearly display rider type and fare type as well as a unique day code. Timestamping the tickets allows both riders and inspectors to be able to keep track of ticket validation and time of expiration. Access to a QR–code allows inspectors to scan tickets and access regulatory information such as the time that tickets are purchased or launched as well as fare, rider, and zone type.

The

INSPECTOR APP QR–scanning is highly secure and offers reliable verification. It is also well suited to serve as an audit mechanism behind visual authentication.

Scanning technology is simple and responsive. Scans do not require an internet connection, meaning enforcement is not affected by dead zones without connectivity. In two seconds or less, an inspector can quickly confirm whether or not the scanned ticket is valid. Rider information, ticket type, and a map of ticket validation location are also all accessed through scanning the ticket. In case a rider’s phone is lost or loses batter y power, tickets can be accessed through a verification API ser vice. All information scanned by the GlobeSherpa Inspector App is synchronized with TOMS.

Security is paramount to every component of the GlobeSherpa platform. We achieve all regulatory standards set by OWASP, PCI, and NIST through our process of design, SSL certificates, virus/malware protection, password policy, logging/auditing, backlists, threshold monitoring, and ticket management (appearance, animation, day code, etc.). GlobeSherpa tickets employ industry leading encryption to protect all sensitive data. All communication between the mobile phone and TOMS uses https for secure transport of data. Key data that is stored locally on the mobile device uses 256–bit encryption and the only key to unlock encryption is stored on the Inspector App and TOMS.
