Buena Vista student recognition STORM LAKE — Brianna Funte and Natalie Bellairs, both of Osage, were recently honored at Buena Vista University’s student recognition event. Funte is a senior digital media major, and Bellairs is a junior majoring in biology. Funte was one of several students to benefit from the Otteman Student Research and Internship Fund, which supports student research by supplying them with allocations to pursue learning opportunities. Bellairs was inducted into Alpha Chi, a national honor society recognizing scholarship in all disciplines. Lindsey Potter and Jordan Prescott were united in marriage on Saturday, May 18, 2013, in a round barn on the grounds of Twin Lakes Bible Camp in Manson. Lindsey is the daughter of Doug and Deb Potter of Joice. Jordan is the son of Kent and Diane Prescott of Waverly. Maid of honor was Betsy Potter, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Loretta Wooge, Julia Jessen, Laura Brandt, Kristen Fiscus, Keshia Ball, Keri Prescott and Emma Prescott. Best men were Mason and Cole Prescott, brothers of the groom. Groomsmen were Peter Broome, Erik Heard, Seth Conover, Cory Badura, Kasey Lyons, and Sam Broome. Ring bearers and flower girl were Kayden, Parker and Taylor Badura. Kent Prescott, father of the groom, officiated at the ceremony. A reception supper and dance were held at Harvest Hall on the grounds of the camp. After a honeymoon to Colorado, the couple is now living in Waverly.

TRACY FAXEL of Chicago, Ill., is the daughter of Bob and Diane Faxel of Hickory Hills, Ill. Tracy graduated from Washington University, St. Louis, Mo., with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering, and graduated from Rush University in Chicago, Ill., with a Master of Science in Perfusion Technology. She is employed by Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. JACKSON POWELL of Chicago, Ill., is the son of Jay and Jo Powell of Mason City, Iowa. Jackson graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering and graduated from the University of St. Thomas, Minneapolis, with a Master of Arts in Teaching.
