Dr. Tasha Beenken DES MOINES — Tasha Rose Beenken received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Des Moines University on May 28. Dr. Beenken will fulfill her residency requirements, specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, at Botsford Hospital in Farmington Hills, Mich. Dr. Beenken graduated from Forest City High School in 2003 and Simpson College in 2007. She is the daughter of Penny and Harley Beenken, Forest City; Greg Beenken, Nora Springs, and granddaughter of Helen Wooge, Crystal Lake.

Drake University pharmacy award DES MOINES —Jessica Taylor, of Ventura, accepted the Excellence in Pharmacy Award at Drake University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences graduate recognition ceremony, May 13. Taylor received the award in acknowledge-
ment of high professional motivation and superior proficiency in the provision of drug information services, according to a news release.
Concordia graduate SEWARD, Neb. — Rachel Miller, of Mason City, Iowa, was among students awarded a degree at Concordia University, during commencement exercises held May 7. Miller received a bachelor of science degree in education, and graduated with distinction (minimum grade point average of 3.5).
MASON CITY — Ryan Kennedy, son of Dan and Linda Kennedy, Mason City, received four degrees from Iowa State University, in English, philosophy, accounting and management. Kennedy also received the Senior Leadership Recognition Award. He has accepted a scholarship to Duke University Law School to pursue his law degree and master’s degree in English.
