O’Donnell named to honor roll MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. — Heather O’Donnell, of Mason City, was named to the Honor Roll at Brown College, for the summer term. To be named to the Honor Roll, a student must have a grade point average between 3.5-3.99.
Strachota awarded scholarship DES MOINES — James Strachota, of Mason City, received a $150 Boone Campus Scholarship from the Des Moines Area Community College Foundation, for the fall semester, and another $150 for the spring semester. Strachota is enrolled in DMACC’s nursing program.

Waldorf Adult Degree Dean’s List FOREST CITY — The 2008-09 Waldorf College Adult Degree Program Dean’s List for Term I was announced. To qualify for the Dean’s List, a student in the program must have completed 12 semester hours at Waldorf, enroll full-time (six hours or more) during a term, and obtain a 3.5 grade point average for the term. Inducted into Honor Society FOREST CITY — Thirteen students were inducted into Alpha Chi, in a ceremony at Waldorf College, Oct. 26. Alpha Chi is a national honor society that recognizes the academic achievement of students in the top 10 percent of colleges and universities. Marzen named to Dean’s List CALMAR — Travis Marzen, of Marble Rock, was named to the Northeast Iowa Community College Dean’s List, for the summer 2008 term. Students who meet or exceed a 3.50 grade point average are named to the Dean’s List. Part-time students are considered when they have accumulated an additional nine or more semester credits and continue to be eligible for honors status each time they accumulate an additional nine or more semester credits.
