Living in Globe-Miami

GLOBE | BY LCGROSS

Globe-Miami has been called “the heart of Arizona” with good reason.

MIAMI | BY ELIZABETH EATON

In addition to our location at the intersection of five major highways connecting us to Phoenix, Tucson, Payson, Safford, and Show Low, GlobeMiami enjoys a unique blend of history, culture, and economics. These elements influenced the community’s early development and, in turn, that of the state – and they continue to make GlobeMiami a special and dynamic place today.

Globe Miami Times has been covering the community for over 16 years, focusing on the people and culture that define us. As a transplant from Tucson many years ago, I began the publication to shed light on everything I was discovering about my new hometown. I wanted to explore and uncover the quintessential vibe of Globe-Miami – one of those things that makes us all glad to call it home. I wanted to meet the new folks like me, who relocated here from all over, and the third-generation family members who run local businesses and have names you come to recognize instantly if you spend much time here.

So when the Globe-Miami Chamber asked us to produce this year’s Business and Community Guide, we jumped at the opportunity. This publication offers an inclusive look at the community through our eyes – we know what it’s like to be new to the area, but we can also draw on our personal experiences and the long-standing connections we’ve forged over the years. We feel this combination of a fresh perspective and deep community knowledge helps make this Guide an authentic and useful resource for those looking to live, work, or play here.

The 2022-23 Guide is a collaboration with the Chamber, City of Globe, Town of Miami, and more than 100 local businesses and organizations who signed on to our vision of a Guide that would tell a big story about our small towns. It’s also the product of the creativity and professionalism of a host of contributors. Photography by Yevette Vargas, writing from Globe Miami Times’ stable of local reporters, and the beautiful design and layout by Jenifer Lee, our Creative Director of 16 years, have helped make this Guide a worthy reflection of the Globe-Miami community.

This year, the Guide will be sent out to 100 Chambers and Visitors Centers across the state, as well as being represented by our own Globe-Miami Chamber & Visitors Center. The Chamber will use the Guide to represent our community at statewide events and will make it available to the nearly 30,000 visitors who stop in each year for information. And it will be available at area hotels and destinations and at more than 100 local businesses.

Finally, this Guide will be available online 24/7, where readers can connect with the Globe-Miami community and its businesses anywhere, anytime.

If you want a good look at the Globe-Miami community and what it means to live, work, and play here, this is the place to start. We hope you’ll share it with family, friends, clients, potential workforce hires, and investors.

The world is on the move, it seems these days. People are looking for jobs, investment opportunities, a change in lifestyle, a connection with community.

Whatever it is that brings you to Globe-Miami, welcome.

If you’re looking for a vibe, a vocation, a place to vacation or a place to invest – this is our story. Linda Gross Publisher
