The large mural you see as you enter Broad Street was underwritten by Tanner Hunsaker, owner of Western Reprographics. The artist Chris Carnahan, an emplyee of Hunsaker, referenced historical photographs and worked with digital tools, oil paints and ink applications to create the mural.

Douglas Miiles Mural, 1st in Downtown

The mural by San Carlos artist, Douglas Miiles, was commissioned by Kathy Ryan, owner of United Jewelry, and her son Patrick in June of 2021. It was the first large-scale mural in the historic district to be done within the last decade. Miiles is a nationally recognized artist, entrepreneur and activist with work in LA, New York, San Franciso. “We wanted to acknowledge the importance of the San Carlos Apache people to Globe’s own history, and we knew Douglas Miiles was the artist who could do that,” says Patrick. u
