Future Form
Founded by Nathaniel Fink and Jason Figueroa Future Form is the Tesla of activewear, according to co-founders Nathaniel Fink and Jason Figueroa. While performance is the fulcrum of what they focus on, what’s also important to them is exuding cool in both the physical and metaphorical sense. Also central to their company are practices based in sustainability. For Fink, an ASU alumnus, it was the university’s emphasis on sustainability that inspired integrated efforts ranging from choosing local partners to utilizing eco-friendly fabrics and recyclable packaging. The pause of the pandemic brought a unique change to their production process. After a couple of nonstarters with sportswear specialists, they were pleasantly surprised to be matched up with a Phoenix-based manufacturer of dance wear, lingerie, swimwear and club wear. While this niche apparel company might not have been the most obvious route, the two founders were aligned in understanding how to skillfully work with form-fitting fabrics. They’ve also had the opportunity to improve greatly since their first beta launch when they pitched to Global Sport Institute. The funding allowed them to entertain new ideas and dive deeper into constructing their garment from start to finish. “We’re not just printing on existing shirts,” Fink said. “This has allowed us to create something that we are truly proud of.” Fink and Figueroa have big dreams of brushing with the likes of well-established brands like adidas and Nike. They even reached out to fellow entrepreneurs in the Global Sport Institute’s venture roster and are discussing ideas around a collaborative brand video. In the near future, they hope to partner with ASU and give back to the community that helped give them their start.
