This stunning region is famous for its charming honey-coloured villages and historic market towns all set against a backdrop of rolling countryside. The Cotswolds offers so much to see from beautiful arboreta, grand manor houses and gardens to quaint churches in quiet backwaters and age-old archaeological sites. The Regency Spa town of Cheltenham has been welcoming visitors for almost three hundred years, when the first natural spring was discovered. The town boasts outstanding architecture and fine town houses along with stylish shopping and colourful parks.

Holiday Itinerary Cheltenham

Sunday. Our tour begins with a visit to Tewkesbury, a charming town where time has stood still as the medieval character is perfectly preserved as a living museum. We arrive at the hotel with time to settle in prior to dinner. Monday. Today we are joined by our blue badge guide for a full day touring the beautiful Cotswolds. Enjoy the informative tour taking in the best of the pretty towns and villages with some free time along the way to have a bite to eat or take a photo or two. With many a tale to tell, our guide will expertly take us on a journey of times past and there may even be a little scandal along the way! Tuesday. We enjoy a full day in Cheltenham with lots to see and do in the attractive Regency town. Take a stroll along the

historic Promenade, squares and terraces admiring the town houses with their intricate iron work balconies and painted stucco façades. There are stylish shops and restaurants as well as award winning gardens to enjoy. Wednesday. Today we visit the Southern Cotswolds taking in Cirencester, charming Minchinhampton and Tetbury. We include a visit to Westonbirt Arboretum, an internationally renowned tree collection and heritage landscape managed by the Forestry Commission. This unique attraction features sixteen thousand trees from Britain, China, North America, Japan, Chile and other temperate climates. Planting was started in the 1850s by Robert Holford, the rich Victorian landowner to whom the Westonbirt estate then belonged. Thursday. Following breakfast we head for home returning via the city of Lichfield with its famous three spired magnificent cathedral and bustling city centre with a wide range of shops and places to enjoy a bite to eat.
