Glenbrook Valley is a wonderful place to live! We're not a neighborhood of "cookie-cutter" homes. Most our homes were custom built, some sections have homes that are similar, some the same floor plan, but it's not very noticeable because of different colored brick and unique exterior features. Ten years ago many people in Houston had no clue where we were. We have received much recognition in publications over the last few years. We have become one of the most desirable neighborhoods in the city.

The tools used to keep Glenbrook Valley a "desirable neighborhood" are our deed restrictions and community standards. The deed restrictions were established by the developers of the neighborhood in the 1950's and early 1960's, depending on when your section was developed. The community standards were developed in the 1980's. The deed restrictions and community standards are on our web site at http:// glenbrookvalley.org. under the "library" tab. Deed restrictions are by sections. Community Standards are uniform for the entire neighborhood. The City of Houston's Legal Department enforces certain of our deed restrictions. On the rare occasion the violation isn't among the list they can enforce, the civic club engages the services of an attorney to handle enforcement.

Hobby Livable Centers Study Last year there were several community meetings sponsored by the Hobby Area Management District and the Houston-Galveston Area Council to survey the community and its residents in order to develop, basically, an improvement plan.
