Skippy Park gets a makeover

Balancing efforts

By Lea Parkes

A little bit of rain wasn’t enough to stop Cr Rick Baberowski trying out the new timber balancing logs at Skippy Park at Landsborough last Friday morning.

We caught up with the councillor when he was out taking a look at the work that Sunshine Coast Council officers completed just in time for the school holidays.

The project replaced the climbing tree and was delivered at a cost of $60,000.

The overall project includes new timber balance logs, climbing net (spider’s web) and a top up of the sand as well as minor turf works.

A handful of timber uprights have been hand crafted to include Australian animals and create imaginative play.
