Design Concept Based on people’s flows, paths and movements, the project spaces are organised on multiple levels. It’s possible to identify two different type of spaces spreading on tree levels: - a public space within services for citizens, including the maket square, shops, and theatre. This is located on the main street level and, therefore, well connected to the city centre. - a private space, with functions intended for immigrants only. The accomodations are placed at the lower level, taking advantage of the existing difference in height of the ground and giving a private character to the living spaces. - a raised pedestrian path connects these accommodations to the main services for the immigratns: study rooms, laboratories, canteen, officies. This solution guarantees preferential lanes to those residing in the immigration centre and, at the same time, this allows a social connection and integration on the intermediate level, hosting services and activities for both communities.
