VASE 1 vase

PRODUCT DESIGN

VASE _ 1

A vase is something that we do not use ever yday, it is one of those items that you take out for special occasions. So why should something be used once in a while when we can design something that can serve two purposes. The vase is divided in seven parts held together by ten pins. When separated each piece of the vase can be used as a hanger on the wall. The shape of the vase reminds a traditional vase from one side and a more minimalistic and squared vase from the other side. The prototype has been printed with a classic 3d printer.

FLYING TANK drone

PRODUCT DESIGN

FLYING TANK Flying Tank is a drone that delivers liquid products at home. It is designed to reduce the use of packaging. This drone plays the same role that the milkman had in the 60s. You have your containers at home and with the use of an app you order the missing liquids you need, like soap, oil, vinegar, shampoo, etc. The drone can transport a maximum of 4kg per trip. This excludes the transport of wather. It is specifically designed for liquids that can last longer and are not used in a large quantity (ex. soap) The project does not only comprend the drones but includes charging stations and tracks for the transport of the liquids to the stations. We studied the characteristics and the capacity of a drone in order to find the perfect disposition for the stations in the city. Ever y drone has the capacity to fly for 3 km. So the distance between a station and another is of 2,6 km. With this disposition the drone is able to charge its batteries and take the products to deliver.

The entire route includes a number of different games, challenges to overcome that allow the child to match the flavor of walnut to other foods such as honey, yogurt or sugar; in this way the complete plate becomes the final stage, and then the prize for the success of the game.

COLLAPSE

Collapse was born from the idea to bring together a twine with an innovative elegant material such as iron, to achieve structural rigidity and a feeling of comfort when sitting. It is based on an approach played on the contrast between thickness and lightness. The seat is made from a tubular iron drilled in 24 points, painted in order to ensure good abrasion resistance and use in outdoor environments. The value is increased by the charm of the hand-made which gives uniqueness to each piece.

HOW TO SAVE A TREE book

ESITORIAL & PRODUCT DESIGN

How to save a tree Manuale per il recupero di legno d’ulivo affetto da Xylella

Giulia Josè Conte

Across the stony heel of Italy, a peninsula ringed by the blue-green waters of the Mediterranean, olive trees have existed for centuries, shaping the landscape and producing some of the nation’s finest olive oils. Except now, many of the trees are dying. “How to save a tree” is a book that wants to educate about the disease and help to recover the Xylella infected trees. According to the law the infected trees must be cut. But because the main use of an olive tree is to make oil the landowners prefer to burn them because they do not see the many uses they could get. So the manual gives them suggestions on how to make furniture out of this trees. The book educates about the cuts, about the sawmill, the dr ying and all the needed steps to make a piece of furniture. The manual also contains a section that explains how to experiment with this type of wood using other materials like resin, cement, chalk.

CHETEAM web site

WEB DESIGN

CheTeam is a website developed to help to create a team of students with different capabilities and backgrounds. We started from a real problem that touches all of us college students: when we have an idea but we don’t have the knowledge to develop it. For example: “a medicin student thinks that would be a great tool for older people to have an app that connects doctors, pharmacies and clients and this tool allows people to order medicines online and have it delivered at home. But the medicin student doesn’t have the knowledge to develop an app and doesn’t have money to pay someone to do it. So the student goes on CheTeam and uploads his idea and the kind of personalities he would need to accomplish the project. In this way students from all over the world can send a collaboration request in order to help the idea grow and create a project team” The website also includes a blog and a forum. The finalized ideas gain visibility on the website, and can find sponsors or companies interested in developing them.

MUSEO DEL CINEMA DI TORINO logo

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Museo del Cinema Torino

The logo comes from the idea of synthesizing into a single entity the fundamental elements of movies; so we decided to join the track two basic objects for a film museum, which is the camera and the countdown number. In this way, after studying the geometr y of these two concepts, we developed a circular simple logo. With the help of colors, then, we wanted to emphasize the importance of lights in the movie process. Museo del Cinema di Torino | UNIRSM 2013-2014 | Costruzione geometrica

Geometrics of the logo

Museo del Cinema di Torino | UNIRSM 2013-2014 | Concept

How the logo was born Giulia Josè Conte | Denis Mosconi
