We are able to provide gluten-free, lactose-free, vegetarian, and peanut/tree nut-free meals and snacks upon request. Requests must be placed at least one month before camp using the online form at Camp.GirlScoutsRV.org/contact. We do our best to limit cross-contamination, but as we do not have separate facilities, we cannot guarantee zero risk of cross-contamination. Our camps are also not peanut-free environments and we cannot accommodate airborne allergies. If you have other dietary needs, please contact us to review menus and in many cases, we can accommodate you sending special dietary foods/meals that can be warmed via microwave or oven while at camp.

In order to experience the full benefits of camp, campers are not permitted to have cell phones or devices that keep them plugged in and connected to their responsibilities at home. We believe, and research supports, that time away from screens and free from expectation of connection helps reduce anxiety and improve social skills.

CI T A PPL ICAT IONS All girls, regardless of number of previous years as a counselorin-training (CIT), will need to complete our brand-new online CIT application. Once you have filled out and submitted your application, it will be reviewed by a Girl Scouts River Valleys Camp Director. You will receive an email with your application status within two weeks of submission. If accepted, Girl Scouts River Valleys will register you in early-mid March and you will receive a session confirmation via email. No need to register for these sessions in February. APPLY ONLINE AT Camp.GirlScoutsRV.org/Leadership-Sessions.

BUDDY REQUE S T S If your girl and her friend are hoping to be bunkmates, please submit a buddy request at Camp.GirlScoutsRV.org/contactus or enter the buddy’s name in the “buddy request” field when completing registration online. In order to make buddy arrangements, both girls must be registered to attend the same session and request one another as buddies. We recommend limiting buddy requests to one girl since girls tend to have the most fun when they can meet new friends.

L O S T A ND F OUND Camp is not responsible for lost or stolen personal belongings, money, or any items left at camp. Lost-and-found items will be kept at camp for one month. Any items not claimed by that time will be donated. Please contact the Camp Director if items are forgotten at camp.

Girls will connect with nature, each other—and most importantly— their inner selves as they learn new skills and tackle new challenges with the caring support of a counselor in a safe and nurturing environment. To help girls build this connection we ask that they do not have their phones (or another internetconnected device) with them while at camp. We know in today’s world parents depend on being in contact with their children instantly via smart phones. Sometimes it’s difficult to remember a time when knowing what children were doing minute-to-minute was not a guarantee. But we’re here to remind you that our camp staff is trained and has girl safety as their top priority. If campers do bring electronic items to camp, the Camp Director will place it in a ziplock bag with their name on it, keep it safe, and return it at the end of their camp stay. In addition, this means that you will not receive photos, texts, or phone calls from your girl. Rest assured that we are providing them with the best camp experience and will help them adjust to their time away from home.

W E AT HER Campers learn weather emergency information and will practice drills. In the case of an actual weather emergency, we will put the safety of our girls first, which means we won’t be answering phone calls or emails during that time. We will send out updates once normal activity has resumed.
