Pony Play Day

Gather your pony-loving friends and come to Wood Haven for an afternoon of fun with the horses! You’ll play pony games, create a pony art project, groom a horse, and ride. No previous riding experience necessary, as this is an introduction to horses. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls must be accompanied by a registered adult. All adults must have a satisfactory background clearance to participate in the program. *Includes a Horse Fun patch.

Girls Around the World SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9, 1-4PM Lehigh University 27 Memorial Drive, W. Bethlehem Cost: $8/girl Spend the afternoon with the sisters of Kappa Delta as you learn about girls in other countries. Create your own Japanese origami, participate in Indian dancing known as leela, and snack on cuisines from various countries. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls must be accompanied by a registered adult. *Includes International Girls Day patch and completes requirements from the New Cuisines badge.

Be Brave FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14, 7PM – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 11AM Camp Wood Haven, Pine Grove Grades: 4-5 Cost: $60/girl $45/adult This sport of bows and arrows is a blast, so come try your archery skills at Wood Haven! Learn tips on shooting style and form, and work to improve your aim. Play different archery games while you learn basic archery safety rules and etiquette. After a day on the range, enjoy evening camp activities, including a campfire. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls may attend without an adult. All adults must be registered Girl Scouts and have a satisfactory background clearance to participate in the program. *Includes accommodations in platform tents, all meals served in the dining hall, and Archery patch.

Saddle Up FRIDAY, OCTOBER 14, 7PM – SUNDAY, OCTOBER 16, 11AM Camp Wood Haven, Pine Grove Grades: 6-12 Cost: $75/girl $50/adult Come out to Wood Haven to camp in platform tents, enjoy the beautiful fall weather, and, of course, hang out with the horses! You’ll ride, learn how to take care of a horse, and discover what it takes to be a horse owner. All riding activities will take place weather permitting. No prior riding experience necessary, just a willingness to have fun! After a day with the horses, enjoy evening camp activities, including a campfire. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls may attend without an adult. All adults must be registered Girl Scouts and have a satisfactory background clearance to participate in the program. *Includes accommodations in platform tents, all meals served in the dining hall, and Horse patch.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 5-10PM

Every fall, Dorney Park transforms into a haunted nightmare. Go behind the scenes and see how the Haunt Make-Up Team prepares its actors for an evening of scaring and entertaining guests. Take a tour of one of the spooky attractions then enjoy the thrills of the night...if you dare. For an additional $14 per person, you can add a meal voucher to your program experience. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls must be accompanied by a registered adult. *Includes workshop and park admission Saturday, October 15, from 12-10pm. Completes step 4 of the Entertainment Technology badge.

Tea With Juliette SATURDAY, OCTOBER 15, 1-4PM Delaware County Service Center 760 West Sproul Road, Springfield Grades: 2-3 Cost: $9/girl $2/adult Join the GSEP History Committee to celebrate Juliette Gordon Low’s birthday with a tea party! Enjoy games and songs led by older Girl Scouts, create a troop mural, and see a collection of Brownie Girl Scout uniforms from the past. Don’t forget to wear your vest or sash to show your sister scouts all the cool things you’ve done! Please bring a non-perishable food donation for a local food cupboard. All troops must bring Safety Activity Checkpoints adults. Individual girls must be accompanied by a registered adult. *Includes snack and Girl Scout Way badge.

Camp + horses = an equestrian’s dream weekend! Enjoy hanging out with horses, the beautiful fall weather, and camping in platform tents overnight!
