GIRLS ON BOARDS GOVERNANCE FORUM: RECAP

#GBFORUM2019

ABOUT GIRLS ON BOARDS Girls on Boards is an 18-month long program for Canadian women aged 18-25. The first of its kind in Canada, the program provides the country’s emerging female leaders with the training and one-on-one mentorship required to serve on governance boards, then places each participant on a non-profit board as a director. The program tackles two related challenges of women's underrepresentation on boards, by building a talent pool while simultaneously supporting boards to challenge the status quo and diversify its membership.

Before being placed on a board, Young Directors receive professional coaching and complete Ryerson's onBoard Canada course, which teaches: Board Essentials, Legal Roles & Responsibilities, Finance Fundamentals, Commitment to Diversity, Risk Management, Strategic Planning Resource Development.
