Bringing views and light inside through reections
Engagement with the City SPRING 2019 2 West 13th street, New York The objective is to bring back the attention to look out to the window when people are inside the building but not valuing the view. The highlight of the design is the mirror and glass roof that reect the city view into different spaces. It allows people to experience the view in different moments and facilitate creativity. The triangular system creates opportunity of communication and gives more complexity to the space.

BEAM hygiene center FALL 2019 28 10th Ave, New York
The Beam Hygiene Center provides the opportunity for the homeless to indulge in self-care and spend a few hours in a warm, safe and dry environment. Our concept aims to embrace all by creating an environment of comfort. The curved walls get narrower when moving into the private spaces such as showers and bathrooms to create privacy and gender separation; one of the prominent safety issuve found in research. The public areas get wider and more engaging to create a healthy and inviting community. The curves help in creating partial visibility and invisibility; organic partitions that embrace.
21
According to research, a high proportion of women and LGBTQ community are also assaulted when homeless, hence creating groups of bathrooms and showers in three different areas ensures privacy and safety for the guests.

MATERIAL: FLOOR The glass creates a buffering effect. It allows lights to enter, but the ďŹ lm provides infomation about the center and blocks the view inside. People inside can feel comfort relating the light from aperture.

They can experience the change in environment as they are viewing the different status of the furniture pieces from outside to inside or vice versa.
