Marble Run Blue Foam

Brief

to create three parts of a marble run. first part to be made from blue foam ,second part to be made from wood and the last part to be 3D printed.

Design ideas

some of the final design ideas for my marble run inspired by my research and initial sketches .

Wooden Part

when making the wooden part i kept to a very simple design ,but when putting it onto the actual board ,took alot of effort to make sure the ball moved smoothly down the board.

3D printed

When making this part i found it the most fun to make ,because i really had to consider how to make it work , as well as it being the first part i had designed using a 3D printer .

Research Led Project

Brief

For this project we had to design a product that was useful to a multi generational home, as well as for disabled family members.

Research

These are just an example of a few of the exerminets i did in preperation for desiging my final product , as you can see i used several methods to replecate the effect of certain disabilities.

Poster and personal studies

SPECIFICATION

TASK

EAT

SHARE

LIVE

Design an inclusive and accessible and multi- generational kitchen space or kitchen component that works for all ages, as well as for disabled and non-disabled family members, so they can prepare, cook and serve food, entertain, engage in hobbies or work and enjoy life together.

This study will be focussed on the production of a chair that will meet the specified task requirements. It should not look out of place in a family kitchen. It should be easy to get in and out of. It should be functional for a range of disabilities. It should be appealing and equally fucntional for non-disabled people. It should be affordable.

END - USER

This project looks into living with physical disablitlies and the restrictions of mobility that result. Four people with a range of physical capabilities were studied, to help understand how to design for a widerange of people and needs.
