Leading The Way Deborah Heins, BSN, RN, MHA, CMSRN, ONC, has been appointed as Nursing Unit Director for 2 South. Deborah joined Orange Regional in September 2003 as a Staff Nurse for the Bone and Joint Center. Prior to working at Orange Regional, she worked as Director for Pediatric Services at the Center for Discovery in Harris, New York. Deborah earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the State University of New Paltz in 2008 and her Master of Science degree in Healthcare Administration from Walden University in 2011. Henry Ruckdeschel, Safety Manager, has been appointed to Safety Ofļ¬cer and Chairman of the Environment of Care Committee for Orange Regional. In this role, Henry is responsible for: ⢠Managing risk ⢠Coordinating risk reduction activities in the physical environment ⢠Collecting deļ¬ciency information ⢠Disseminating summaries of actions and results ⢠Acting as a reporting member of the Environment of Care Committee on ļ¬ndings, recommendations, actions and monitoring ⢠Participating in surveillance and incident reporting ⢠Participating in the development of departmental and facility wide safety policies and procedures ⢠Participating in safety education orientation programs for new employees and on a continuing basis for all employees ⢠Assuring that compliance with applicable codes and regulations, as applied to the buildings and services are provided In accordance with Joint Commission standards, Henry has been delegated to intervene whenever environmental conditions immediately threaten life or health or threaten to damage equipment or buildings.
