What is a hydraulic solenoid?
A hydraulic solenoid is a piece of an iron core, basically called the “Armature. It is wound by a coil that is electromagnetically inducted. It generates a magnetic field, while the electricity passes through the coil, and the magnetic field creates a directional force. By using the force, the hydraulic solenoid can realize the movement of pull, push, and even move proportionally.

How is a hydraulic solenoid valve operated ?
The Hydraulic solenoid valve is operated by solenoid while receiving an electrical signal. It can be mounted on the valve sides to form the working position directionally. It is used commonly for the valves control. Hydraulic Solenoid valves can be divided into many groups of operation: • Direct operated • Indirect operated • Semi-direct operated

• Direct operated Direct operated solenoid valves are normally closed and have the simplest working rule. It doesn’t use a diaphragm and remain close when there is no pressure. • Indirect operated Indirect operated solenoid valves use the distinction force of the middle over the valve ports to open and close. Usually, these valves require a minimum force 0.1 bar. It is suitable for high flow rates (up to 16 bars). • Semi-direct operated Semi-direct operated solenoid valves merge the assets of direct and indirect valves. This enables them to work from zero bar, but they can manage a higher flow rate.

Advantages: • • • •
Fast action Low power intake Remote functioning Fits in diverse machinery and equipment.
Disadvantages: • • • •
Sensitive to voltage The valve can partly close if the magnetic field isn’t set up properly Coils are essential and due to electrical use may need to be to be alternated or replaced over the lifetime of the valve Control signal must remain on during operation
