MEET LEE
In May 2022, Cascia Hall named Lee Mayberry as the Boys’ Basketball Head Coach, Dean of Students, and Assistant Athletic Director.
Coach Mayberry’s name is familiar to many Cascia families due to his long tenure in the spotlight: a Tulsa native and Will Rogers High School graduate, Mayberry joined the ORU women’s basketball coaching staff in June 2018 after a one-year stint as Assistant Coach for the Watson Chapel High School Wildcats in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.

Before coaching the Wildcats, he was part of Mike Anderson’s boys’ basketball coaching staff at the University of Arkansas. Mayberry’s name is seen in the record book for the Arkansas Razorbacks as he leads the program in all-time career steals with 291. He ranks second in assists with 729 and third in points with 1,940.
Selected in the first round of the 1992 NBA draft as the 23rd pick, Mayberry spent his first four years in the NBA with the Milwaukee Bucks and played in 328 consecutive games to begin his illustrious career. He then went to the Vancouver Grizzlies to play his final three years and accumulated more than 2,500 points and more than 1,700 assists in his pro career.
Coach Mayberry has made a splash his first months at Cascia Hall; the boys’ basketball team started the season strong. Coach’s favorite moment of the season so far? “Winning that home opener over a good Riverfield team.”
When asked what surprised him the most as he settled into his second semester at Cascia, Coach Mayberry said, “We have some very mature kids here at Cascia Hall. Everyone just went about their normal day and for the most part is a smooth transition from the break. Kids seem to be doing what is expected and being where they are supposed to be. It’s been wonderful—I hope this second semester goes exactly like the first semester.”
