PLAYgrouND s.e.A. School Extension Activities Youth (K5-8 Grades) Parents are you looking for a fun, safe and educational setting during the School District of Greenfield’s early release days? The City of Greenfield Dept of Parks and Recreation will be offering the SEA program in conjunction with the Greenfield School District to combine structured learning activities and fun in a safe environment. SEA will be staffed by certified educators and Greenfield Park and Recreation Department staff. The program is available to all School District of Greenfield elementary and middle school students in addition to all Greenfield residents who are of elementary and middle school age. Depending on the grade level, featured activities may include computer lab, math enrichment, book club, homework help, study time, physical activity, and more. Parents may pick their children up prior to 5:00 PM. If applicable, students will be bused from their home school to another school where the SEA program is being held. Parents must provide transportation home. No credits or refunds for non-attendance.

Code of ConduCt To ensure that the playground program experiences are positive for everyone involved and that one child’s behavior does not limit or interfere with another child’s experience, the following “Code of Conduct”will be administered for the S.E.A. program. • Children must be quiet and attentive when the playground supervisor or leaders are presenting instructions and/or information. • Hitting, kicking, pushing, and other types of VERBAL and/or PHYSICAL behavior will not be acceptable among the children and will not be tolerated. • Weapon-like toys, including squirt guns will not be allowed. • Running is not allowed in the hallways.

There are many volunteer opportunities throughout the City of Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department and community organizations. Every year volunteers from varying age groups and backgrounds, with equally varying abilities and motivations volunteer at numerous programs and special events. Volunteer applications are available at the City of Greenfield Department of Parks and Recreation office located in Greenfield City Hall, Room 200 (7325 W. Forest Home Ave.) M-F 9AM-6PM.
