ISO 216 is the international paper size standard used around the world- A4 being the most commonly used, with the exception of North America and parts of Latin America where the US letter size is used. The difference between the two sizes can go unnoticed, and may lead to many problems without careful observation when it comes to the international exchange of documents. The history of the ISO standard involved the observation of the advantages of basing a paper on a length to width ratio of 1:√2 which allowed the Paper Painting (Side B), 2020, paper to maintain the same ratio when folded in half. acrylic on US letter size paper, 8.5 in. x 11 in.
