INVESTITURE PRESIDENTIAL INVESTITURE WEEK
October 1-5, 2018
Dr. Neal Weaver was inaugurated as GSW’s 11th President on October 5,
GAINING MOMENTUM
2018 in a formal investiture ceremony. An investiture formally marks the beginning of a president’s tenure, traditionally held during or at the conclusion of the president’s first PRESIDENTIAL INVESTITURE OF DR. NEAL WEAVER year in office. It was a special time for GSW to welcome a new era of leadership and celebrate as a community. The week leading up to Weaver’s ceremony was full of events that celebrated GSW and the community. The theme for the event was Gaining Momentum: Storming into a New Era. As GSW is powering through Momentum Year, the theme emphasized the hard work and dedication that is launching GSW into a new era of leadership and success. 1. Canned Food Drive: Investiture Week began with a canned food drive, where over 1,000 items were collected for the GSW campus food pantry and Harvest of Hope and spelled out G-S-W.
