SUPPORT STAFF Daryl Jones Director of On Campus Recruiting Daryl Jones was named director of on-campus recruiting in May, 2012. A native of Ocala, Fla., Jones played wide receiver and was a decathlete at Long Island University C. W. Post where he earned his bachelors degree in political science and education. From 1990 to 1995, he served as a volunteer assistant Ann Hunt Connie Connelly coach at Hofstra and Duke, followed by University of Recruiting Adm. Assoc. to Maryland where he was a graduate assistant coach and earned his masters Program Coord. Head Coach degree in educational administration. He spent the next 17 years in the state of Georgia coaching system beginning as an assistant high school football coach at Glynn Academy in Brunswick, Ga. He later served as head football coach and athletic director at Griffin High School, Wayne County High School and North Oconee High School. Jones also served as assistant coach and student support coordinator at Oconee County High School and assistant coach at Grayson High School. Jones was named Georgia High School Athletic Director of the Year in 2005 and was the Under Armour manager of football camps, combines and the 7on7 projects, during which he was a two-time assistant coach of the Under Armour All America Game. Bryant Gantt Program Coordinator Georgia football letterman Bryant Gantt was named Program Coordinator in the football office in January, 2011, after serving 19 years as a legal assistant at an Athens law firm. Kevin Purvis Among his responsibilities are providing advice and counsel to student-athletes in areas related to life Asst. Equipment Mgr. skills, personal accountability, and personal development; and coordinating and facilitating programming relative to student-athletes. Gantt was named the recipient of 2012 Liberty Bell Award from the Western Circuit Bar Association. A graduate of Cedar Shoals High School in Athens, Gantt majored in Economics at UGA while playing for Vince Dooley and Ray Goff. He lettered in 1989 and ’90. From 1997-10, Gantt also served part time as a recruiting assistant with the UGA Athletic Association. During his 19 years working for the law firm of Cook, Noell, Tolley & Bates he served as a legal assistant, investigator, Kenny Pauley and process server. Director, Athletic Turf/Grounds
Brandon Wheeling Program Coordinator, Defense
Brandon Wheeling, a native of Dallas, Ga., and graduate of Paulding County HS, was named the program coordinator on defense for the University of Georgia’s coaching staff during the spring of 2012. Wheeling originally joined the Bulldogs as a student assistant in 2011 and worked with the defense. He is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Sport Pedagogy. Wheeling started for two seasons at defensive end for the University of West Georgia during the 2006 and 2007 seasons. He transferred to Georgia in the spring of 2008. Wheeling was named the Most Outstanding Walk-On following spring practice in 2009 and earned a scholarship with Georgia for the following season. The SEC Academic Honor Roll member played in nine of 12 games in 2009. After his playing career, Wheeling coached the defensive line at Barnwell High School in South Carolina during the 2010 season. Wheeling earned All-Region honors at Paulding County High School before starting his career at West Georgia.

Doug Saylor Program Coordinator, Offense Doug Saylor, a native of Newnan, Ga., and graduate of East Coweta HS, was named the program coordinator on offense for the University of Georgia’s coaching staff prior to the 2012 spring practice. Saylor has been associated with the program since joining the staff as a student assistant in November 2007 working with the offense (mainly receivers) and special teams. He continued his work with the offense over the next four years, serving primarily as the signal caller to the QBs during games. A qualifier for the 2011 Georgia Amateur Golf Championship, Saylor lettered in football, basketball, baseball and golf for the Indians in high school. He started at quarterback as a senior under current Reinhardt College head coach and mentor Danny Cronic. Saylor also helped East Coweta finish second at the GHSA 5A state golf tournament in 2007. Son of Darrell and Kathy, Saylor graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in Sport Management in December 2011.
