Coach Mark Fox has assembled one of the finest coaching staffs in America, with over 100 years combined experience in coaching and mentoring young men. Philip Pearson | Assistant Coach • Fifth season on the basketball staff at Georgia. • A veteran of Southeastern Conference basketball as both a player and a coach. • Spent 16 years representing the basketball program at Alabama, first as a player from 1989-93. Was an assistant coach at Alabama from 1998-2009, when the Crimson Tide won over 200 games, won the 2002 SEC title, played in the NCAA Tournament five times and earned the program’s first-ever No. 1 ranking. • Served as Interim Head Coach of the 2009 Alabama team for the final 13 games of the season. • 1993 graduate of Alabama. Earned a Master’s Degree from Murray State in 1997. Stacey Palmore | Assistant Coach • Fifth season on the basketball staff at Georgia. • Came to UGA in 2009 after building a reputation as one of the ACC’s top recruiters during five seasons at Virginia Tech. • During his time at Va. Tech, the Hokies’ program ranked fourth in the league in total ACC victories with 38. • Has also coached at Lander University, Erskine College, Western Carolina, Evansville and the College of Charleston. • 1993 graduate of Livingstone College in Salisbury, N.C. Jonas Hayes | Assistant Coach • Second season on the basketball staff at Georgia, first as a full-time assistant coach. • Served as the Bulldogs’ Program Coordinator last season. • A native of Atlanta, he lettered three years for the Bulldogs from 2002-04. Started 41 of 88 career games at UGA, scoring 759 points and collecting 435 rebounds. • Two of the three teams on which Hayes played reached post-season play, including the 2002 NCAA Tournament. • Returned to UGA after five seasons as an assistant coach at Belmont Abbey College. Previously, he also had brief stints as an assistant at South Carolina State, Morehouse and his alma mater, Douglass High School in Atlanta.
