2013 Season Recap The University of Georgia softball team advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 12th-straight season under the direction of Head Coach Lu Harris-Champer. The Bulldogs finished the 2013 season with a record of 4021, marking the 13th time that the Bulldogs have ended the season with at least 40 wins. Georgia finished fifth in the SEC with a record of 14-9. Georgia became known as a power-hitting team throughout the season, registering 93 home runs, just six shy of the schoolrecord of 99, set in 2010. Geri Ann Glasco led the team in power, finishing with a Georgia freshman record 19 home runs. Five players finished with double-digit home runs, including Glasco, Paige Wilson, Kaylee Puailoa, Tina Iosefa and Anna Swafford.

The season was not over, as the Bulldogs traveled to Tempe, Ariz., to face the No. 5 National Seed Arizona State in the NCAA Regional. Georgia went 2-2 in the Regional, with a pair of wins over San Diego State, but fell to Arizona State, who made it to Oklahoma City for the Women’s College World Series. Georgia picked up numerous postseason honors, with four players earning five All-SEC Honors, two All-SEC Tournament selections and three NFCA All-Regional honorees, one NFCA All-American and three Easton All-Americans. Georgia also picked up five SEC Freshman of the Week honors, one SEC Player of the Week honor and two National Player of the Week honors.

The Bulldogs got better as the schedule got tougher, finishing with seven wins over ranked opponents in the final five weeks of the season. The strong finish to the season allowed them to secure a spot in both the SEC and NCAA Tournament. Georgia earned the No. 5 seed in the SEC Tournament and defeated SEC Western Division Champion LSU for a third time with a 7-0 shutout win. Georgia fell to SEC Regular Season Champion Florida in the semifinals of the tournament.
