Log it-Fix it Is your pet microchipped and registered? Registering your pet ensures Council will be able to contact you, should they be lost and found. If a pet is not registered, Council has no option but to transfer the animal to a shelter. Registration requires a once-only payment which covers your pet for its lifetime in NSW, regardless of any changes in ownership. Microchipping and registration is a two-step process that requires dog and cat owners to: 1. Have the pet microchipped by 12 weeks of age by a vet or accredited implanter. 2. You are also provided a reference number which means you can track your request.
