April 2, 2011 Dear Friend, This year, West Overton Museums is proud to announce our 28th annual Quilters Competition and Show. The West Overton Quilt Show is one of the premier quilting events in Southwestern Pennsylvania that draws visitors and entries from the tri-state area. From our humble beginnings as a small display consisting of the museum’s collection, the West Overton Quilt Show has turned into an event that exhibits the crafts of many local quilt artists from the Laurel Highlands and the Greater Pittsburgh Region. For some of our quilt exhibitors, the West Overton Quilt Show was a steppingstone for success at various regional and national competitions. This year’s Quilt Show will run from June 4th to June 19th. In addition to the wide variety of our renowned local talent, this year’s event will again feature a traveling exhibit from the National Quilt Museum located in Paducah, Kentucky. This new traveling exhibit is entitled, Blending the Old and the New: Quilts by Paul D. Pilgrim. This exhibit is a tribute to one of our country’s great quilt makers and antique quilt collectors with many of his premier pieces on display. This exhibit will be a great addition to our 28th annual Quilt Show but it cannot be a success without your help. We are in need of partners who value the arts, friends like you, to help sponsor this event. Many have generously donated over the years. As a sponsor of this event, your family, club, organization, or business will be prominently displayed in the exhibit and an advertisement will be placed in the program booklet. Your generous donation will be used to underwrite the cost of this popular event. Local Quilting Guilds who sponsor this event will help your members receive $3.00 off the admission to this event. Enclosed is a sponsorship form for your convenience. Please make your selection and return the form along with your payment and a reproducible copy of your logo no later than May 20 th.
