ANU is located in the heart of Canberra, a beautifully planned garden city surrounded by native bushland. Participants have the opportunity to enroll in regular university classes at ANU. Prior to departure, participants select three courses from those available to study abroad students at ANU. All instruction is by ANU faculty. Typically, fall semester runs from mid-July through earlyDecember and spring from early-February through mid-July. Students who participate in the ANU Internship Program will meet ANU's academic requirements, taking 1/3 of the program in ANU coursework and 2/3 in an internship placement. The ANU Internship program runs during the summer also, mid-May through July. Placements can be in Parliament, the Australian Public Service, the Australian Capital Territory Assembly or Service, or with a wide range of non-governmental and community organizations. James Cook University Country: Australia Location: Cairns and Townsville Campus: SUNY Oswego Term(s): Fall, Spring, Academic Year Language of Instruction: English Program Description: Students enroll in regular university courses and study alongside Australian students. Fields of study include anthropology, education, exercise science, occupational therapy, computing, journalism, psychology, music and theatre. JCU's zoology, tropical ecology, and molecular and earth sciences courses are among the most respected in the country. The University of Canberra is three hours from Sydney and two hours from scenic beaches and snowfields. It is a location ideal for exploring Australia. The University of Canberra is close to the central business district and next to the Australian Institute of Sport, the Canberra Institute of Technology, and several government agencies. Participants will have the opportunity to enroll in regular university classes at the University of Canberra.
