GENERATION 2030 (4 weeks project) 27th of May – 26th of June 2016, Ekaterinburg (Russia)

GENERATION 2030 is a project dedicated to the development of awareness among young people around the world in the solution of today’s problems. One of the main tasks of «GEN2030» project is to contribute to the creation of social projects around the world, which are designed to solve global and local challenges of society, investing in the achievement of the Global Goals of humanity.

PROJECT MISSION Build the generation of responsible and acting leaders. Unite the youth of the world to achieve the Global Goals.

SEPTEMBER 25, 2015 THE LEADERS OF 193 COUNTRIES TOOK PART IN THE HISTORIC EVENT. THEY AGREED ON THE ACHIEVEMENT OF 17 GLOBAL GOALS, WHICH WILL SOLVE 3 MOST DIFFICULT CHALLENGES: POVERTY ERADICATION, ADDRESSING INEQUALITY AND INJUSTICE, ENDING CLIMATE CHANGE.

Yekaterinburg is the fourth-largest city in Russia and the administrative center of Sverdlovsk Oblast, located in the middle of the Eurasian continent, on the border of Europe and Asia. At the 2010 Census, it had a population of 1,349,772. Yekaterinburg is the main industrial and cultural center of the Ural Federal District.

AREAS OF WORK OF THE PROJECT 200 foreign volunteers will be divided in 4 areas of the project. Each of team, consisting of 50 people, will be responsible for activities under one or more Sustainable Development Goals.

HEALTH AND WELLBEING Goal 3: Ensure a healthy lifestyle and to promote wellbeing for everyone at any age. Foreign volunteers are engaged in physical activity, popularizing this activity among the city's residents. Lead workshops, blogs, calling to monitor your diet and health.

QUALITY EDUCATION Goal 4: Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote learning opportunities throughout life for all. Foreign volunteers give lectures, workshops, discussion clubs for schoolchildren and students on the topic of vocational guidance, education and improvement of sustainable development in general.

WORLD WITHOUT INEQUALITY Goal 10: Reduce inequality within and between countries. Foreign volunteers through the main activities of the project (e.g. Global Village), discussion clubs and blogs convey the simple idea that all people are equal and all cultures are equally interesting and unique.

SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND ECOLOGY Goal 11: Make cities and towns open, secure, stable and sustainable. Goal 15: Save and restore terrestrial ecosystems and to promote their rational use. Foreign volunteers carry out actions with NGOs and activists of the city aimed at environmental improvement and conduct research on the convenience of the city life and offer their solutions to problems.

AWARENESS Objective: attract attention to the project and coverage of the essence of Sustainable Development Goals. Education of all project volunteers, the first meeting with the students on the project, the massive involvement of the media, the official opening of the project and cross-cultural festival Global Village. ENGAGE Objective: to attract people to the creation and participation in social projects. Within this block foreign volunteers involve residents in various activities (for all four themes). At the end of the block passes YouthSpeak forum where ideas are formulated, and teams of social projects aimed at achieving Sustainable Development Goals.

INSPIRE Objective: To show people by example that even simple actions can contribute. Every day there are small promotions, events and studies aimed at the implementation of simple and clear actions, which popularizes healthy habits within the framework of Sustainable Development Goals. City residents understand that it's just easy.

ACT Objective: to provide education to teams on project management. Within this unit specialists provide training for newly formed teams of foreign and Russian students in order to ideas shape into a viable project, the participants think through the steps for the further implementation of the project and its development. The official closure of the project, summarizing, rewarding the best

MOVEMENT Objective: To popularize participation in projects devoted to Sustainable Development Goals. After completion of the project in Ekaterinburg - a large-scale lighting actions of each team, regardless of the project site, to show that participating in social projects is necessary and to join them and make a positive contribution to society – just easy.

MAJOR PROJECT ACTIVITIES Global Village is the largest celebration of cultures from around the world, participants demonstrate their culture through dance, food, traditions, costumes, music and traditions! Global Village encourages social sustainability, global awareness and understanding of cultures. The event was created to revive the overall concept of the world, to inspire people, to provide an opportunity to understand and appreciate the uniqueness and distinct cultures of different countries in order to create a contribution to the world. Participants: 200 foreign volunteers and residents of Ekaterinburg. Number of participants: 2 000 YouthSpeak is a forum that brings together young people and the older generation of leaders to discuss the problems that exist in the world, where young people have a chance to turn their ideas into reality. Forum creates a platform for sharing experiences and ideas of people with different backgrounds, scope and expertise to create something new. Unlike many other forums, the program is incorporated in YouthSpeak space for the formation of teams and creation of specific social projects aimed at solving world problems. Participants of the forum: opinion leaders, business leaders, NGOs, students of different universities from 18 to 24 years. Number of participants: 600
