The dastardly Bowser has kidnapped the Princess, leaving Mario and the gang with the task of negotiating all manner of troublesome tricks and traps across the Sprixie Kingdom. Squeeze through transparent pipe, throw balls at enemies, ride moving trains, and scamper up walls like a cat! In this first-ever multiplayer 3D Mario adventure, four players can get together and discover exciting new abilities, and revisit some of the most beloved power-ups from the series history. Along with all-time classics such as the Tanooki Transformation and Boomerang Mario, new abilities such as the Cat Transformation turn Mario into a wall-climbing, claw-scratching moggy, while players can launch projectiles with Cannon Box, or collect a Double Cherry to generate a helpful clone. Luigi, Princess Peach and Toad also boast different skills and abilities. For example Luigi can jump higher, Princess

Peach can glide over gaps, while Toad is the fastest of the group. Players can use the unique skills of each character to fully explore every corner of the level.
With four-player offline co-op support as standard, players will work together to clear a stage, and also compete to see who can get the highest score. A range of controllers are supported by Super Mario 3D World to help players enjoy the rich co-op multiplayer features of the game, including existing Wii remotes, nunchuks and joypads, as well as the Wii U’s gamepad, and Pro Controller. To add an extra dimension to the gameplay, players can utilize the Wii U GamePad controller’s touch screen to search for hidden blocks, and to help fellow players by freezing enemies in place.
