Preconstruction is a critical time for discovery and solutions-focused thinking. Turner’s role is to remove the complexities involved in the execution and delivery of the construction process to allow for collaborative, data-driven decision making.

Turner project management leaders are a knowledge network of construction-focused professional engineers and architects, product experts, procurements specialists, process managers, integrated multi-disciplinary performance model technicians, and community engagement managers. Preconstruction

Trade Partners + Labor Pools

With the ongoing growth of the construction market, it is evident that trade labor availability is becoming increasingly scarce. In response, Turner addresses this challenge by proactively ensuring subcontractor availability through our centralized Procurement Team. Our dedicated professionals work tirelessly to purchase materials and services on a daily basis, maintaining constant and effective communication with the subcontractor market. This allows us to have real-time insights into the workload capacity of subcontractors, enabling us to make informed decisions and secure the necessary resources for our projects.

Turner produces a quarterly market condition report, providing a global view of for our clients to use in site selection and long term planning groups. Turner’s Building Cost and Equipment Indices are determined by several factors considered on a nationwide basis, including labor rates and productivity, material prices and the competitive condition of the marketplace.

DESIGN MANAGEMENT

Through Turner Engineering Group (TEG)

Our in-house engineering resources collaborate with the team’s design partners to generate optimized solutions to complex technical challenges during the preconstruction. This process enables identification of hidden design risks while examining the best option that suits a specific condition in all disciplines of project development. Our reviews and evaluations can take on different forms: Technical Reviews, Risk Analyses and Operations/Systems Reviews.

TEG can support our owners and design partners to complete reviews of existing designs of MEPS to identify and minimize project risks, including forensic analysis of challenging conditions.

RISK FOOTPRINT + Resilience Analysis

Our RiskFootprint Report identifies the natural hazards and risks of a building or project location. The report includes both historical climate data and future climate estimates. Using information from the RiskFootprint report, we will prepare a Resilience Analysis that provides recommendations in relation to the natural hazards and risks as well as our client’s priorities and building resilience goals. Turner also prepares feasibility reports providing technical feedback on existing conditions with a focus on adaptive reuse objectives. We evaluate the program and identify the potential high risks. The goal is to aid our clients in pursuit of a high performance, energy and resource efficient, resilient projects.
