INTRODUCTION Guodong Liu, from China. Study in the degree program in interior design. With my in-depth understanding of the interior design industry, I think it is an interesting and happy process. During my studies at LaSalle College, I also kept thinking about what is good design. I think that a good designer should not only possess professional knowledge and skills, but also constantly improve his aesthetic ability and understand different cultures and customs. Especially in Vancouver, a diversified city, there are people from different countries and their living habits are different. Good design is to create a comfortable and convenient life for people. At this time, designers need to broaden their horizons and possess rich knowledge and experience in order to create spaces suitable for different people. Also keep thinking and observing, and be good at discovering the beauty in life. Designers should provide customers with a better lifestyle and lead the trend through design. The interior designer is faced with different details in the environment. The handling of details is related to the success or failure of the entire interior space design. The simpler the design, the more important the details. Pay attention to the exchange of roles between the interior and the exterior. Sometimes a plant or an ornament can make the whole space agile and shine. Interior designers also need to have good communication skills, the more they understand the customer's psychology, the better they can design a good plan. They must clearly and accurately express their design intent and thoughts so that customers can easily understand them. With the development of the market and the advancement of technology, new products and new materials continue to emerge. Designers must grasp the characteristics and uses of materials in time. In this way, there are more choices in the design process, different materials are matched to create different styles, and the budget can also be controlled. Conceptual design is the design idea of the project, it is a comprehensive result. It is a general idea, including the comprehensive consideration of humanities and functions, technology and materials, and the designer's unique recognition factors and personality characteristics of the design project. I like the design concept of "less is more". I think natural and original materials have their own temperature and stories. For example, a gentle light from the setting sun shines on the wall, and it weakens and changes over time. Strong, bigger, smaller, this is the touch that nature brings to people, it can move your heart quietly. Therefore, keeping the most natural and original space can give people more imagination. In a space with only basic installations, it is easier for people to relax and enjoy the time with themselves. I think a good design can help people understand themselves and discover the beauty of life.

CONCEPT OF DESIGN The design of the respite centre is inspired by the communication machine. I think the bridge not only a connection between the United States and Mexico but also a place to connect with the world. They need to know what happened about outside and other country needs to hear their voices to help them. This respite centre is an interactive, fun, social, vibrant and safe living environment. There are 3 different style of communication space inside the architectural. They can chat and make friends anytime, anywhere. Then they can use the office adult training, information center to plan the next step instead of always waiting. During they live in 2 or 3 months, they can make money by selling coffee, food, vegetables and some traditional handicrafts to drivers and nearby residents on the first floor. The coffee shop, art center and urban farm in the building provide them with location. I hope them have a safe, comfortable, happy and hopeful life through my design.

Journey Hotel

The Journey Hotel is a rough, metallic, colorful, social, youthful and fun hotel that combines student apartments and mixed lifestyles with boutique hotels open to students and Beijing national and international travelers. 30% is for local students and 70% for other travelers. My conceptual foundation period was Beijing in the 1950s. China in that era began to develop economic development in an all-round way. Many factories were built in different cities. So, I will design this hotel use some elements of the factory building. The design will use red bricks, gray cement, metal and other elements from Chinese industrial buildings in the 1950s. The design uses a bold and lively color scheme and easy and simple furniture to create a fun space atmosphere.

Journey Hotel Junior Hotel Suite 770 sq The clients of this hotel are mainly young people. The design of the chain leather hanging chair not only increases the fun but also makes the whole design more rough and metallic. This is exactly in line with the main body of the industrial style. The bedroom uses cement and red brick walls, which makes the entire space more peaceful while having a Sense of the times. The cotton bedding makes the bedroom softer. The design of the bathroom uses factory pipes to make an integrated washstand.

BoBo fish Chinese restaurant 1480 sq BoBo Fish mainly operates restaurants from Sichuan, China, and it features a combination of spicy and fish. So the design of the entire store also uses fish elements, such as hand-painted and handicrafts. The wood grain and bamboo curtain shape make the whole space more elegant. The bamboo curtain not only increases the privacy of the customers, but also makes the whole space more agile and transparent. The black abrasion-resistant marble floor is not only easy to clean, but also echoes the ceiling, making it more stable.

The spatial elements of the open deck are shaped through diversified changes in accordance with a certain principle of identity, combined with corresponding artistic expression techniques, so that the entire space environment is organically unified as a whole. The embellishment of the text wallpaper makes the overall space design show the sense of cultural quality, reflects the exquisiteness and individuality of industrialized social life, and conforms to the life taste of modern people.

In the design element technique, the pursuit of volume space and high proportion of details is continued, and cool colors and various active factors are added to weaken the sense of ritual and strengthen the agility of the space, presenting a youthful and fashionable light luxury temperament.

Concept Chinese restaurantThis project takes the good yearning for people‘s lives as the source of design inspiration, and I use my interpretation and understanding of life. In the design, a kind of sunny and comfortable life is restored, because this building structure opens a skylight on the 3rd floor, we can feel the change of light throughout the day. Therefore, this background wall directly uses the cement material of the building itself, which is a fusion of reality and nature. We are not just creating a space with a space atmosphere, but building a container for a beautiful life, vivid and yearning...

Family room The family room and the study room are open, presenting the visual experience given by the sense of spatial integration in all directions, and providing different spaces independent of each other. The skylight design in the middle not only satisfies the lighting but also makes the whole room as a whole without interfering with each other, which is in line with the current family living demand. While constructing a sense of hierarchy, the design elements are effectively and reasonably matched to maintain the variability and continuity of the texture and continuity of the materials, and the coordination and change of the spatial shape. The open family room follows the warm color of the overall space, and the material is large in wood grain and metal, which is modern and concise without losing quality. The full-scale floor-to-ceiling windows introduce natural light, while being simple and pure, they also create an open picture.
