SCHOOL SPOTLIGHT: GAINESVILLE HIGH SCHOOL STORY BY ANNA PARDUE It is evident that some big changes have been happening at the Gainesville High School campus lately. Carroll Daniel Construction has moved out and their work is complete. Now, there is a brand new three-story academic building with a faculty parking lot completing the connection to the Student Activities Center that opened last year featuring first class athletic facilities and classrooms. The Academics building (Building A) features three stories with 47 classrooms, labs for marketing, science, business, and business production, and two art workrooms with an outdoor patio. Mr. Jamie Green is the principal of GHS, and he strives daily to lead students toward success. All Gainesville students aspire to one day be a GHS Graduate and to take part in the long-standing traditions of this school. GHS strives to consistently inspire, nurture, challenge, and prepare all 2,300 students for whatever path they may choose in life. Many opportunities are offered for all students to find their passions and thrive by taking part in one of the 52 clubs offered or the numerous extracurricular activities available from athletics to band to theatre to NJROTC and beyond.
