ARTICLE II District, Membership, Purpose, Meetings and Obligations

Section 1. Insured members and social members are

GBU Financial Life District Bylaws and Rules of Procedure As Approved by GBU Board of Directors February 15th, 2023 In accordance with Article VIII, Section 3 of the Bylaws of GBU Financial Life (GBU), districts are largely self-governing organizations but must comply with the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws of GBU, these District Bylaws and Rules of Procedure and all other requirements adopted by the GBU Board of Directors (the GBU Board). These District Bylaws and Rules of Procedure have been adopted by the GBU Board as of February 15th, 2023 and supersede and replace all prior district bylaws and rules of procedure.

ARTICLE I Structure and Powers

Section 2. District meetings should be scheduled in advance and held as frequently as required by law with a minimum of four per year. Minutes of district member meetings must be recorded and maintained by the district. Three members constitute a quorum for district member meetings, but a smaller number can adjourn the meeting for a lack of quorum. Section 3. Special district member meetings may be called by the President but at least twenty (20) adult members of the district must be invited. The Secretary must provide each member with a written or electronic notice at least ten (10) days prior to such meetings stating the business to be transacted. No other business may be considered. Section 4. District member meetings should be conducted in

the form prescribed in the District Officer’s Reference Guide for GBU districts. District member meetings are governed; and procedures and questions involving the meeting will be based on applicable sections of the current edition of Robert’s Rules of Order, Newly Revised.
