Thai Elephant Conservation and Development Center Thesis Project Location : Hangchat District , Lampang , Thailand Elephants and people have been related from past to present but currently, there are problems with elephant care management, namely unsuitable conditions for the elephant’s natural way and the use of elephants in the tourism industry cause misunderstanding and being reduced in a role. As a result of these problems, health problems and the economic value of tourism has decreased, causing the tourism industry model of elephants and elephant raising need to adapt to the changing conditions and situations. The project aims to be a model for conservation and sustainable elephant care that takes into account the elephant welfare. Including new forms of ecotourism that combines the correct knowledge and understanding of elephants for visitors and considering the natural environment. This is the prototype area for other elephant care center in Thailand.
