BacK To school

The first day of school was terrific with sweet reunions between students, staff, and families. Judging by the smiles and excited chatter, it was obvious everyone was happy to be together again. Thanks to the hardy Seniors who showed up early to welcome everyone, and to our photography team led by Clint Walker for the picture. You can see more backto-school pictures here. We hope you enjoy them.
Summer Appeal Wrap Up

The TCCS summer fundraising campaign was a smashing success! The $100,000 matching challenge was met and exceeded, resulting in $247,000 that will go directly into tuition support to students in TC Christian’s Variable Tuition program. To those who gave and to those who prayed....Thank You! We are completely humbled by your generosity and thank God for His faithfulness. Award
Last spring, an invitation was extended to students in small towns who scored in the top 2.5% of PSAT/ NMSQT test takers to apply for the College Board National Recognition Programs (CBRP).
All students who submitted an application were evaluated and in October, TC Christian Senior, Adam Rasmussen, was officially recognized as a College Board National Recognition Program Scholar.
That’s a huge achievement and certainly welldeserved. Congratulations, Adam. i just want to say thank you for all your kindness and efforts in making TCCS work through this Covid season. (our son) loves this school and thrives here. i so appreciate all that you and the teachers, board, and staff do to invest in our kids to provide a biblical, grace-filled environment. Praying for you all to experience the true rest and love of god throughout this year!” - A TC Christian Mom

PTO Helps With COViD Precautions
Thanks to the efforts of our PTO, returning TC Christian staff and students each received a complimentary Sabre Face Covering. The gaiters were lightweight, breathable, and stylish. Best of all, they provided convenient protection whenever masking was required, and helped limit the possibility of young Sabres losing their masks and/or swapping with friends. Thanks, PTO!

First Friday Fun
A tradition at TC Christian is our ‘First Friday’ celebration. The name says it all. On the first Friday of the new school year, our Superintendent, Tyler Van Schepen, along with some trusty assistants, roam the classrooms distributing treats (aka icecreams) to all the students. It’s a fun way to say “We made it!”

Double Edge Launches New Website
Double Edge Thrift Shop, TC Christian’s little slice of heaven (on Garfield at South Airport) that is full of useful, unique, and sometimes unusual items, has launched its first official website. The site is still in the formation stage and over time will feature sales, specialty items, and online shopping. You can take a quick look here.
School Spirit
TC Christian Senior, Clint Walker, has an amazing school spirit! When Covid restrictions limited fan participation at indoor sporting events, Clint decided to start a live broadcast. He gathered equipment and knowledge and set up a courtside broadcasting booth to share live game action online. Sabre TV covers home games and highlights the players, provides playby-play analysis, offers color commentary, and brings school spirit to a new level! When obstacles get in the way...think of new ways! Clint even shares hosting duties with special guests, including his mom, Laura. Go Sabres!

The Big Read
Last school year, teacher Carrie John’s challenged the 6th grade class to read 40 books over the school year. This 40-Book Challenge seemed difficult at first, but these students celebrated reaching this goal together earlier this Fall. As an Honorable Mention, students not pictured got close with 35 books. Great effort, everyone!

Homecoming BBQ Picnic
On a beautiful sunny Friday, the MS/HS were outside enjoying a BBQ picnic on the lawn followed by games and fellowship. A fun time was had by all. Special thanks to Grill Master, Doug Mirabelli, for his steady stream of delicious hot dogs, and Bob Schmidt who provided fresh fried donuts all afternoon. What a great way to end Homecoming Week.
